Biancadelrioisback · 21/03/2019 21:08

How many times is this thread going to be posted?!
I swear it's every week someone makes a thread bitching about the same few token catch phrases which they don't like. You want to know what annoys me? That does.

beenhereages1 · 21/03/2019 21:10

I've been waiting for one of these threads!

Running commentary of what her DC have said, apparently hilarious, but not really unless you were there.. or their parent.

Counting a child's age in weeks, even after a year old. Posting regular pictures of said child, which is lovely to see. Not so lovely to see them posted all again for the next 2/3/4 years using time hop and hashtags #babygirl #princess #lockupyoursons

I'm sure I'm getting less tolerant the older I'm getting Grin

Theunreasonableone · 21/03/2019 21:16

People that call a family they are friends with Team whatever their surname is - “great to hang out today Team Unreasonable”. Gah so fucking annoying!

Watto1 · 21/03/2019 21:23

I thought checking in at hospital was bad enough until one friend checked in at the crematorium. Keep the phone in your handbag when you are at a funeral ffs!

PuppyMonkey · 21/03/2019 21:24

See, I was brought up to use a hashtag properly on Twitter, so I have huge problems with the frivolous way people use them on Instagram and FB.

I’ve a friend who hashtags the fuck out of any random thing she does. So you get #blessed #lovemyboys and all that, but also very random #wenttotheshopandthenhadmytea or some such nonsense. Really gets on my tits.

RoseMartha · 21/03/2019 21:44

I have avoided FB as much as possible in the last year or so. Most of the mentioned above make me cringe, hence me not going on it.

beenhereages1 · 21/03/2019 21:52

No way @Watto1 ! That's awful Shock

SarahBeeney · 21/03/2019 22:00

Loads of hashtags in a row.

I also really hate slogans that people have painted onto their walls, for example...

'It's not about waiting for the storm to pass it's about dancing in the rain' or some other shite.

SOAK in lettering in the bathroom

FAMILY in the lounge

Etc etc.

And everything mentioned on this thread

Musmerian · 21/03/2019 22:04

V tempted to have FUCK in large hold letters on bedroom wall.

Musmerian · 21/03/2019 22:04

Gold not hold!

Pk37 · 21/03/2019 22:07

anything with a hashtag really , mostly the ones containing “hubby”
Or people calling their kids “munchkins”

LadyTabasco · 21/03/2019 22:07

"my parents didn't buy my first car" and "I managed to get through my teens without getting pregnant - i bet not many of you can share this" Both regularly shared by a women who is in her 30's and lives with her mother, as her marriage broke down after 6 months.

HammerToFall · 21/03/2019 22:20

It seems to be standard where I live to use been instead of being ie 'he is been moody'. Really grates on me!

Alieeeeeens · 21/03/2019 23:24

People who give their children their own hashtags and use them on every photo e.g. #babyemma #charliesmyangel (I think made these up but if they exist I didn’t know!)

origamiunicorn · 22/03/2019 06:41

@NewYoiker Taking a photo of the memorial wall at the world trade centre and putting it on Facebook/ instagram with #makingmemories,#tripofalifetime 😡

^ This! I came out of the museum at the point of tears and this bloody woman and her equally vapid friend next to us were taking a selfie complete with peace signs, staged laughter and head tilt by the memorial wall and I was so incensed I snapped at them that they were ridiculous and disrespectful but I doubt it registered with them. Hate to think what they tagged it with, probably #livingmybestlife and #blessed Angry

Why do people do this?! Sad

newhousestress · 22/03/2019 06:57

Full time mummy annoys me.

BoobiesToTheRescue · 22/03/2019 07:33

Starting all statuses with "When"

"When the sun is shining and you're out with this one."

"When you can't walk past McDonalds without going in."

Etc etc etc

VirginiaWolfHall · 22/03/2019 07:47

I came off social media at the end of last year and have been pleasantly surprised at how little I’ve missed it. Reading this thread has reminded me of why that is.

#livingmybestlifenow

LostInShoebiz · 22/03/2019 07:52

Hubster, or the fresh hell I encountered last week: hubalub.

Also, I luffs....Envy

AbriaFern · 22/03/2019 08:03

Job adverts you have to read 5x to figure out what the actual job as due to office wank speak like streamlining, stakeholders, workstreams, proactive, channels, platforms...

Is there a single office-based job advert that doesn’t feature have “innovative thinking” in the description?

incrediblehux · 22/03/2019 08:05

Bubs, babba instead of baby.

Pictures of baby girls with giant bows on their heads.

AbriaFern · 22/03/2019 08:06

@Presh12345 look up boyfriends of instagram

Candymay · 22/03/2019 08:15

I have a friend A who regularly professes her love for her dearest and best friend on Facebook. With photos of their outings and happy birthday wishes etc. The other friend is not on fb herself so what is that all about? Surely just showing others what a wonderful loving friend A is?

DontCallMeCharlotte · 22/03/2019 08:16

All of the above but #oneproudmummy makes me stabby.

O don't get me started with the talking to the dead via fb

Oh God yes!
