So I’ve found a lump in my breast, and I’m having really odd sensations in it like a tingling/burning feeling. I’m 40. My Mum was diagnosed with NC at 48 and 4 years later she was dead. I’m a wreck, I have a GP appointment this afternoon to start the process of getting checked out but I am terrified. I’m shaking, I’m imagining telling my kids I’m dying. I’m so scared. DH is working away and has a long drive home, I haven’t told him yet as I don’t want him to worry.

Sending love OP. Be kind to yourself today please, and whatever the doc says, make sure you find time to do something nice for yourself. Even if it's having an early night with a couple bars of chocolate. And please tell your partner, I'm sure they would want to be there for you, even if it's just over the phone right now. Flowers

If you can possibly afford to go private, you can have answers the same day - at least to the point of there is nothing to worry about or there is something warranting further investigation.

Courtesy of my husband's private healthcare through work, I had a 'lump' investigated the week before last. I arrived at the hospital at 6.15pm and by 8.30pm I was on my way home, having had a breast examination, discussion with consultant, mammogram, ultrasound, 3 breast cysts drained and closing consultation with consultant!

I have a lump on my nipple. I went to dr and was fast tracked an appointment within two weeks. My appointment came and I went for it. They were very thorough. I had an ultrasound and mammogram. And saw the consultant. I am booked in to have my whole nipple removed which will then be sent off as biopsy.

There very good these days. Try not to worry if it's anything it shouldn't be or they are concerned the quicker it's dealt with the better. And they won't keep you hanging about. You have done the right thing getting drs appointment. To get the process started x

somuchinfo · 03/04/2019 16:44

Sorry was skim reading I see you have had next appointment already hope that it all went ok. Sending hugs x

Hope you're ok OP! 💞

ScatteredMama82 · 03/04/2019 18:20

I’m fine! Nothing abnormal to see. They did a mammogram and ultrasound and it was all fine. The lump is just normal tissue probably aggravated by hormones. I’m so relieved, and incredibly grateful for the support from MN. Xx
