To think scouts isn't the place

Scouts on Thursday, 24 boys and two girls. They spent the whole night talking about periods, showing tampons and towels playing period related games. Aibu to think this is not appropriate, as a girl I would be mortified. There was no advanced warning. Had they spoken about boy puberty as well I would be less concerned

@bertrandRussell you have much more eloquently said what I feel on this matter.

My DD is the only girl in her scout group. I think it's brilliant, like others have said all the boys will have atleast one person in their lives who has a period. Also by making a big deal out if it aren't we teaching girls it's something to be embarrassed about?

Actually, I think by making a big deal out of it by doing things like a whole evening in a mixed group we are teaching girls that they have to put their own feeling aside because they need to educate boys. But hey ho. Same as it ever was.

I also thought the leader's comment that some found it "funny" and some found it "difficult" was very telling. It doesn't sound like a great success based on that description.
