Browsing in a large charity shop wuth a toddler pottering about. In the childs section, i was looking at books while she was looking at toys getting things out admittedlt leaving 3 or 4 on the floor. I was just turning aeound to pick them hp when an assistant came over and said 'could you please not let your child wreck the place'.

Thoughts please as im annoyed at the comment as shes a very yound child who was doing what kids do, i was close by ready to put things away and was going to help the charity by buying several items.

@tinkerbellbabygirlpoop if you don't want people to think you're an ableist POS, maybe don't say shitty ableist things in the first place, hmmm?

Livelovebehappy · 16/03/2019 19:18

I guess if there were toys not meant for under threes in the toy box, and OPs DC harmed themself, OP would be submitting a claim for compensation.

A) Nobody is speaking here

ColeHawlins · 16/03/2019 19:19

Oh do get a grip on yourself @tinkerbellbabygirlpoop .

Who the hell tells someone explaining the difficulties of disabled access to "lighten up"?

Stop squealing because you've been called on it.

As long as you were planning to clear up after YANBU

Love the MN outrage at how DARE you let your child pull a book off a shelf and not put it back immediately

Jokers.

I want to know what drugs Tinkerbell is on. Where the fuck did rabbits and cats come into it? Also, given the batshittery, do I work with you?

Tinkerbell, it is highly ironic that you have accused another poster of not being very bright.

I work in a charity shop that only sells children's things. Customers come in every day to let their DC's run around and play with the toys. The dc move all the toys around, drop them on the floor, make lots of noise and leave a big mess behind. I am always helpful and polite. I would love to remind the customers that it is a shop not a children's play area but I don't. I just moan about them after they have left.

PurpleDaisies · 16/03/2019 19:28

she was speaking about falling and slipping a disc in her back, that could happen to anyone, disability or not. I was suggesting she lighten up in the respect

You have no idea what it’s like yo have a disability. She is much, much more likely to seriously hurt herself if she fell over. When you go out, you can’t just lighten up. You have to be alert to risks.

Bookworm4 · 16/03/2019 19:28

Deary me, came back for a looky, seriously telling someone with brittle bones to lighten up at the danger of a break, I've seen it all now.
The lady in question should have the expectation to go about her daily life without having to look out for an unattended baby she may fall over.
