For my lunch to get me this excited?

So.... lunch for me is usually a ham sandwich. It's fairly boring and predictable and is usually accompanied by a bag of walkers ready salted.

Today it's marinated chicken on a pitta and honestly, I feel like a new woman. It feels exotic... even though it's actually just last nights leftovers heated up and shoved into a pitta from Tesco.

AIBU to feel so excited for having a different type of meat on a different type of bread?!!
What's everyone else got for lunch today?

I'm bloody starving. Should have eaten before I went to the dentist but I didn't, had a tooth filled and now my mouth is all numb on one side and I can't risk chewing. I'd make a hole in my cheek or something.

Craving a bacon sandwich but will have to wait until my face defrosts.

Haha at not sorry @Hoppinggreen

Corned beef & salad ( rocket, cucumber, radish, red pepper) sandwich on nice bread from the village bakery with a 2 kitcat, orange flavour I’d forgotten how much I loved them

sueelleker · 13/03/2019 13:25

I sometimes take leftovers-the trouble is, what I fancied for dinner never seems so appetising for lunch.

AdaColeman · 13/03/2019 13:28

I've had spinach & potato frittata today, but tomorrow I'll be having a ham sandwich! Brew

MysweetAudrina · 13/03/2019 13:28

Chicken and stuffing on brown bread and a bag of keogh's crisps. It was actually really nice!!!

KnobJockey · 13/03/2019 13:29

I've just been to the chippy and bought 2 battered sausages in a butty, topped with ketchup. Bringing down the tone in here with that, but I'm pregnant, feeling ill and it was lush! Should have got gravy on it though.

Beef monster munch sandwich with a squirt of mayo and a mars bar. Now have my heart set on Pinkheart's lunch, however.

Bartlebysleftshoe · 13/03/2019 13:31

M&S Tomato, Borlotti Bean and Kale Soup - It is one of my faves, though can have windy after effects Grin

Pinkbells · 13/03/2019 13:31

Mackerel, edamame beans and a huge salad. Lovely orange dressing, was yummy.

Bonkerz · 13/03/2019 13:32

I had salad and a stuffed mushroom

BarbaraofSevillle · 13/03/2019 13:33

YANBU. I hate it when I've had disappointing food that I haven't really enjoyed because it just feels like a wasted opportunity to eat something nice.

There's so much lovely food out there, which doesn't have to be complicated or expensive btw, that I just don't want to settle for something I don't want, such as sandwiches, that I rarely enjoy, especially of cold and/or plain like a ham sandwich.

I've had fresh pasta (wild mushroom from Aldi posh range), grated courgette, pesto and veg stock. To make lunch for 2 days, I just divide the pack of pasta and a grated courgette between 2 tubs, add a cube of pesto from the freezer and a teaspoon of marigold veg stock powder. At lunchtime I put in a bit of water from the hot water boiler in the office and microwave for 2 minute. And it is delicious and I can kid myself it is vaguely healthy.

lilabet2 · 13/03/2019 13:33

Of course YANBU- sounds yum.

I had two creme eggs for lunch as part of a calorie restricted day!

jaseyraex · 13/03/2019 13:37

Oh YANBU! Sounds delicious and healthy! I however stopped by KFC after the nursery run. Boneless banquet for me Grin

caperplips · 13/03/2019 13:38

OP that chicken sounds fab and that is definitely marinading!
I sometimes buy falafels in Aldi and bring them for lunch in pitta bread with salad and hummous - I like that lunch too

caperplips · 13/03/2019 13:39

Mind you I REALLY want a chip shop chips sandwich on very fresh white bread with LOADS of salt and vinegar and real butter.....droooool....battered sausage can be optional on the side!

JaceLancs · 13/03/2019 13:40

Melon and palma ham
Black coffee

SleepingIsOverrated · 13/03/2019 13:42

@jaseyraex did you have beans, gravy or corn? I feel like I need to know so I can be properly jealous.

Apart from the food choice factor, it's great that one finds pleasure in small, mundane things. How dull life would be without it. I love having a walk at lunchtime when at work when the sun is shining.
Small things make me happy too and I think it's the best way to be

Homemade lasagna,garlic bread,mixed salad.

The lasagna was last night dinner but I didn't feel upto eating so my DH popped mine into the fridge for me yesterday and it warmed it through for me for my lunch.

My DH and our 2 oldest DS's(1 had the day of work and the other one was home from college)all had a Cornish pasty each.

Chocolate Bar and a Coffee. Shall have lots of vegetables this evening though!.

angeldumottschunard · 13/03/2019 13:55

Vegetable soup 4 days past its use by date as it’s all I had in until the shopping’s delivered tonight. I fear I may be seeing it again later on!

MeltedCheese82 · 13/03/2019 13:57

Prawn and fresh tomato on wholegrain with a bit of Marie Rose sauce. Lovingly made by DP
