Just that really. Chasing some important blood results for ds .

Receptionist said she can only speak to him.

I appreciate that autonomy is important..but i eas with him for the appointment and blood tests ..

I know i am going to get flamed😁

Our surgery are the same and they point blank refuse to give blood test results outside of these times. They also only run a partial on line service, for some appointments and repeat prescriptions, so can't access them that way. Appointment line is only open 8am - 10am and 4 -6pm too. It's great at my drs!

Generally speaking, if there is an abnormality the GP is concerned about, they will phone the patient.

Otherwise, they wont.

If he hasn't heard he can assume all is okay

@LaBelleSauvage - generally isn't always, people should still check their results.

@LaBelleSauvage

Not always true. My blood tests are never normal it's just how abnormal they are. Most of the time the surgery phones me but occasionally they don't. My last test I hadn't heard so I phoned the surgery - they had no results. For some reason the test hadn't been done. Had it done again and it was wildly abnormal. Point being if I'd assumed that no news was good news I wouldn't have got the treatment that I needed. You should always check the results and not rely on the surgery contacting you.

Urgh I hate this sort of thing - I once lived near a surgery that required you to register between 1-2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you went outside of those hours (like after work) they would not give you the registration form. I assumed they had some sort of complicated registration process, but when I did arrange with my boss to work from home so I was able to go, it was the same process as everywhere else, they give you the form, you hand it back, done.

For your DS, could his dad ring, and just say he's your son? Other than male/female sounding voices, they have no way of checking you are who you say you are.

My DD has added me as someone that they can share results with etc.

She is in college and works.

She can change consent at any time and I would never snoop. I don't ask her were she is going etc.
