AIBU?

Freaking out a bit (Trigger warning, breast lump)

So I have what feels like a lump/thickening in my breast that I found 2 weeks ago. I have an appointment at a breast clinic this week coming, but as time goes on I'm becoming convinced I have cancer...I know it sounds stupid but I can feel it even when I'm not touching it. Its almost like I can feel it inside me if that makes any sense, it's not a pain as such but it feels like a dull ache. It's very hard to explain!
The sensible part of me thinks that this is because I'm hyper aware of it and it's my mind playing tricks. The rest of me has convinced myself I have cancer.
I'm also unbelievably tired. This isn't usual. I'm busy most of the time as a lp and I'm also a ft student but I'm suddenly so tired I'm falling asleep in the day. 2 days this week my 8 year old has had to wake me up to make him dinner! This is not normal.

In my head this is another sign that this is something bad.
I have no one to talk to about this stuff. My mums health isnt great and I dont want her to worry. I also don't want to sound melodramatic!
I know the most likely outcome is that it's nothing but I'm feeling scared.

So I suppose my aibu is am I being stupid?!

Please try to relax, I had a similar lump recently, I was terrified but turned out to be benign, it was a scary experience, I had a mammogram it didn't pick up the lump as it was near my arm pit more, then an ultrasound and a biopsy.
I could feel the lump for weeks, especially before my peroid, it is 9mm.
I do hope you're OK, worrying won't help. Best of luck I hope you get good news.

I found one at 16, turned out to be a cyst and they removed the liquid the same day as the scan.
I found out later all the women in my fa ily have fatty lumps or cysts.

I felt a lump in my breast last year, like you my thoughts immediately turned to cancer. At the clinic I had an ultrasound and mammogram, everything came back clear. The diagnosis was I'd been bruised but instead of showing on my skin it had bruised internally. His advice - don't let your DGC bounce on your breasts.
Hope all goes well at your appointment.

I'm in a similar scenario but I haven't called my GP yet. Mine is also nearish my armpit and feels a bit like a pea but maybe a bit smaller? I don't know if I am being silly as I think it's from where my bra has been rubbing? It's also in a stretch mark which I think is making it worse. The site is red and white on top almost like a spot but bigger. I'm only 29 Andy only noticed it in the last few days.

I really hope the appointment goes well and it's nothing to worry about, do let us know how you get on.

Go to the GP Clive, my GP said all lumps need checking. He was so laid back, as was the nurse who chaperoned. I got the impression that they see it all the time, the nurse was chatting about the most random stuff, but I wasn't numb inside and couldn't take it in.

Mine is a suspected fibroadenoma as well. It's very mobile, rubbery feeling, and oval shaped. Also seems to change size. It's in the side of my left breast which has always felt bumpy anyway.

Lots of luck OP and everyone else who is having a lump looked at. Statistically it’s far more likely to be benign than not, but the wait is so terrifying 🍀🍀🍀🍀

I was feeling like this last week. I had an appointment Wednesday just gone at breast clinic. They did an ultrasound and it was a cyst which they drained there and then. I had all but convinced myself it was going to be cancer. I was so tired because I was constantly waking at night, even when I thought I'd slept well my husband would say I was restless. Sensing lots of positive thoughts your way.

Could it be hormonal? I had one and was sent for a ultrasound on it and it was a complex cyst. Examined my chest and said I would expect to have more at some point and it was likely hormonal but always to come back if they reappeared. After I had baby, all of them disappeared! Wishing you all luck and positive vibes.
