AIBU?

Freaking out a bit (Trigger warning, breast lump)

So I have what feels like a lump/thickening in my breast that I found 2 weeks ago. I have an appointment at a breast clinic this week coming, but as time goes on I'm becoming convinced I have cancer...I know it sounds stupid but I can feel it even when I'm not touching it. Its almost like I can feel it inside me if that makes any sense, it's not a pain as such but it feels like a dull ache. It's very hard to explain!
The sensible part of me thinks that this is because I'm hyper aware of it and it's my mind playing tricks. The rest of me has convinced myself I have cancer.
I'm also unbelievably tired. This isn't usual. I'm busy most of the time as a lp and I'm also a ft student but I'm suddenly so tired I'm falling asleep in the day. 2 days this week my 8 year old has had to wake me up to make him dinner! This is not normal.

In my head this is another sign that this is something bad.
I have no one to talk to about this stuff. My mums health isnt great and I dont want her to worry. I also don't want to sound melodramatic!
I know the most likely outcome is that it's nothing but I'm feeling scared.

So I suppose my aibu is am I being stupid?!

I’d like try and assure you all that 1 in 10 breast lumps are innocent, however should your lumps be diagnosed as breast cancer please bare in mind it is not necessarily a death sentence nowadays.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 10 years ago, it had also spread to my lymph nodes, I had an op, chemo and rads and I’m still here to tell the tale.
If your going to be diagnosed with cancer, breast cancer would definitely be the one to have.
Wishing you the very best of luck ladies and sending you all a big comforting hug. X

I went on my own initially as well, I found it easier to get the 'lay of the land' on my own before anyone else knew so I could process before telling anyone (mine ended up being a beign tumor)

My appointment is this morning and I'm in SUCH a bad mood about it. DP has tried to insist on coming and I've said no, I'm too grumpy.

Hope all went ok Flowers I’ve been in a similar position where the worry has made me feel so much worse and I’m still waiting on results from something now. Definitely helps to put it down in writing, just hope you are feeling ok and the appointment went well x

Ive just had my appt...my consultant found a lump in both breasts and wants me to come back friday for a mammogram and scan...he did say he was pretty sure both were cysts but needed to be 100%....I am beyond terrified and have convinced myself hes lying to me....the poor nurse had to get him back in to reassure me...

Could it be hormonal? I had one and was sent for a ultrasound on it and it was a complex cyst. Examined my chest and said I would expect to have more at some point and it was likely hormonal but always to come back if they reappeared. After I had baby, all of them disappeared! Wishing you all luck and positive vibes.
