To be really hurt and pissed off by my friend

Okay -the old pelvic floor muscles are not quite what they were -I’m working on them tho. But I still like to wear a light pad “just in case” . I was out on Friday nite with my new ish partner, my friend and her bloke. Evening was going well but for whatever reason she felt the need to ask my partner if I’d told him about my Tena lady pads yet -dead silence .The conversation moved on -but all a bit awkward . I feel pretty bloody humiliated and reluctant to want to speak to her again. She’d had a few glasses of wine but even so ....My partner hasn’t mentioned it -I guess he wouldn’t but I feel like crap ☹️

She was looking to embarrass you and make you squirm.

She’s not a friend in any sense , I’d tell her what you’ve said here then tell her the friendship is finished.

FizzyGreenWater · 10/03/2019 15:21

Wow how strange! She made herself look an absolute tool - it's such an openly nasty childish dig it will have looked like a badly-judged joke, by the way - no wonder there was an awkward silence. It will have been because people were thinking 'oh noooo' at HER. Not you!

She will blame it on alcohol. Be thankful you've had a heads up - distance yourself. No way will your new partner be thinking anything other than what a weird crass woman that 'friend' was and hoping to god you're not really close with her!

YANBU. What an utter, utter bitch.

Orangecake123 · 10/03/2019 15:23

drop the "friend".

justmyview · 10/03/2019 15:29

That is such a genuinely unpleasant thing to do to a friend that it wouldn’t surprise me if your new boyfriend thought it was not true and was just an ill-judged/weird joke. After all, who on earth would do such a thing to an actual friend. I often think MN can be a bit quick to advise posters to drop a friend but this woman is not your friend

Agree with this

fc301 · 10/03/2019 15:34

Yep. Bitch. Squeezy app very good 😉

DuckbilledSplatterPuff · 10/03/2019 15:34

Even Alcohol is no excuse for that kind of behaviour. I bet this isn't the first time and she's really great sometimes when she wants to be but every now and then shocks you with this kind of "put you on the spot" comment in public. Who needs that kind of nonsense in their lives?

CatherineofTarragon1 · 10/03/2019 15:41

Your 'friend' is a cunt. Sack her off.

☝️ That!

Clarl · 10/03/2019 15:57

What a bitch! No need for her to say something like that.

simonisnotme · 10/03/2019 15:58

wow
shes a bitch and half , drop her like a sack of shit

Mmmhmmm · 10/03/2019 16:03

Nasty cow. Get rid.

labazsisgoingmad · 10/03/2019 16:04

SheSellSeaShells · 10/03/2019 16:05

friend

mamato3lads · 10/03/2019 16:06

Shes jealous of you. . Trying to ruin things for you. The woman is clearly a first class prick. Say goodbye !

10000days · 10/03/2019 18:13

I have a colleague like this. She gets a certain look in her eye around men, and then 'negs' me/others.

A guy I used to work with at a different location transferred to our location, upon meeting him she made a joke about how we must have slept together! It was mortifying, I barely knew him beyond saying hello.

I have scalp psoriasis that I try and keep under control as best I can so no one notices. A couple of weeks ago we were with three male colleagues and she suddenly asked "do you have psoriasis under your tits as well?"

bagpuss90 · 10/03/2019 21:13

I think it may have gone over my partners head-bloody hope so. She’s fine when we’re on our own-but she has been bitchy in company before-nothing on this scale tho. No contact from her since.
Thanks for your support everyone

Friends like that you can well do without.

NCforthis2019 · 10/03/2019 21:30

What a fucking cow. I wouldn’t be friends with her after that.

Loopytiles · 10/03/2019 21:33

Dump her.

BlessYourCottonSocks · 10/03/2019 21:36

@10000days

I would put in an official complaint to your line manager about that appalling comment. It is so utterly unprofessional and unacceptable in a work situation.

And OP - everyone else is right! Don't ever have anything to do with this 'friend' again.

hdh747 · 10/03/2019 21:37

She tried to make you look shit. She succeeded in making you feel shit. It wasn't an accident regardless of what she drank.
Why do you want her as a friend?
