Just that really, Holly said hold on breaking news! I actually got a bit worried thinking we had been attacked or something!

Specially as in the last few days we have had bomb threats with those packages found in London etc.

The newscasters have black ties for when they announce HRH demise. It's a well rehearsed scenario.

More embarrassing that people don't realise if something serious happened whatever the programme if it's a live one the presenter would announce they were going to the news room. If it is a recorded programme it would just fade out and go straight to news.

Ffs Holly didnt announce she had breaking news. She said they needed to cut to the ITV newsroom.

After the fake news started it was obvious it was a joke but that wee bit with the ITV news start you were waiting for some horrendous news.

I totally agree with the OP. I do not usually watch this morning but I had just come out of hospital and was sitting with a cup of tea and my feet up. I really did think something serious had happened. Terrorist related. I turned off straight after. Will never watch such tripe again.
