To ask if anyone’s tried these and they’ve worked?!

The Seven Seas trying for a baby pills.

They were recommended by a friend who got pregnant before they even finished their first pack. They have very good reviews, a lot of them saying they got pregnant during the first month but wanted to ask people who definitely aren’t paid to write a good review Grin

Lots of people attribute getting pregnant after trying for a while to all sorts of stuff.

Indeed and it’s mostly coincidence.

By the way there is not a shred of credible scientific evidence to show that stress can affect fertility. The one study that seemed to show such a link has been shown to be flawed.

BertrandRussell · 07/03/2019 11:12

As I said. The three times I got pregnant were the 3 times I had sex while in Ireland. Correlation is not causation.

MummySharkBabyShark · 07/03/2019 11:15

I took them and conceived immediately. Can’t know if it was anything at all to do with the tablets but I know 5 people who had the same effect.
Good luck!

AliceAforethought · 07/03/2019 11:19

It wasn’t. Those tablets can’t make you more fertile. I can conceive very easily (or could in the past!) and have never taken a vitamin in my life.

People don't know what made them get pregnant.
I'm fairly sure that most people do...has no-one had The Talk with you?

“I took them and conceived immediately. Can’t know if it was anything at all to do with the tablets but I know 5 people who had the same effect. ”

Of course it wasn’t anything to do with the tablets! If it was, why aren’t fertility clinics recommending them??

Still think the packet should state “this product is not a fertility treatment” as some people have clearly got the idea that it is.

AliceAforethought · 07/03/2019 11:52

Mirrivan the front of the packet states “supports normal fertility and reproduction” which suggests it will, well, help with fertility and reproduction. This is clearly ambiguous enough to lead some to believe that it may help them conceive.

The Amazon reviews seem to consist almost entirely of people who believe this “it worked for me, got pregnant within a week” etc.

Yes, it is, but it’s still misleading to some. And some may believe their fertility is sub par, so this will help it become “normal”.

As, I said if you look at the Amazon reviews, most seem to be about the product’s helpfulness (or not) with the buyers conception! People are being misled.

The wording on the front of packets should be easy to understand and unambiguous for EVERYONE, not just those who understand science.

Lots of people seem to think these will help them conceive.

LittleKitty1985 · 07/03/2019 12:15

OP if you want to increase your chances of conception then one strategy that is supported by recent science is for you, and especially your partner, to significantly reduce your sugar intake, including refined carbs

Good point, Mirrivan, good point.

pocketdelia · 07/03/2019 12:32

OP folic acid is to lessen the chances of spinabifida in a baby if you do get pregnant. It has nothing to do with fertility.

BertrandRussell · 07/03/2019 13:04

It needs to say “this product does not increase your chances of getting pregnant”

motheroftinydragons · 07/03/2019 13:08

Well I was taking them both times I fell pregnant. But I didn't fall pregnant because of them, they didn't 'help'. What helped was having regular unprotected sex whilst I was ovulating Grin

They a vitamin supplement I took to ensure I was having everything I needed should I fall pregnant.

BertrandRussell · 07/03/2019 13:12

“They a vitamin supplement I took to ensure I was having everything I needed should I fall pregnant.”

This. If you get pregnant while taking them, they will increase your chances of having a healthy baby because folic acid. But that is not what it says!
