to think you shouldn't make sex noises during a guided meditation?

Just that, really. A man in my meditation class makes these horrendous moaning, sighing, grunting sounds during meditations. Today the instructor asked us to sigh on the out breath and Mr Moans-a-lot really went to town. It was hilarious but also really distracting and gross!

I'm reading this in the train and some off the comments have given me the giggles. I'm getting some odd looks. Grin

I sometimes make little happy noises when i eat something especially delicious. I hope they don't sound like sex noises. Blush

Oh don't start on the eating noises. There's a guy at my work whose chewing sounds like an industrial gravel mixing machine. I have to put my headphones in whenever he eats a sandwich.

So very not suitable for work

tensmum1964 · 07/03/2019 18:24

Echt...work of the Devil. That,s a very odd thing to say. Weirdly I find whistling comforting. I had an older male relative who I was very close to so if ever I hear a man whistling a tune it brings back fond memories. As far as noises while doing yoga, eating etc Eeeugh

BrinkPink · 07/03/2019 18:40

I have an older relative who makes noises all the way through eating - she goes "Mm...mm...mm...mm...mm..." It's annoying but she's always lived alone and I don't think she even realises she does it. Kids always moan about it after she's left!

BrightYellowDaffodil · 07/03/2019 18:52

“Are you alright? If you have use so much effort that you’re making that noise, I’d try some lighter weights.”

rosamacrose · 07/03/2019 19:08

echt
My last FIL had a saying.

'A whistling woman and a crowing hen, brings the devil out of his den'

He is not a nice person.

Tilikum · 07/03/2019 19:35

Urgh I hate this, and why is it always men? All the women in yoga can do ujjayi breathing quietly but there's always a man snorting like a cart horse. So obnoxious.

tensmum1964 · 07/03/2019 20:31

Ha ha Echt that is funny.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 07/03/2019 20:54

When DH coughs he makes the exact same noise I make when I'm chucking my guts up.

He was healthy when we met and indeed until after we married. Otherwise I'm not sure I would have Grin

Tilikum come to my yoga class it's the women who grunt throughout the class, breath really deeply through meditation and try to out Om each other by chanting the loudest and longest. The only annoying man often snores through Shivasna.

When my husband yawns he sounds like an opera singer warming up. It goes down in tone and the (very loud) lyrics go 'AAaah, ahh, AAaa, ahh'. Then he slaps his lips together three times. He's only just started doing it and I think I might have to LTB.

evilharpy · 10/03/2019 10:00

My FIL does something very similar to the opera yawning and it makes me want to destroy him. I feel genuinely violent.
