I've posted a link to a news article that explains what I'm talking about.

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/bizarre-reason-parents-throwing-slices-14081047.amp

Had a friend that uploaded a video on fb today of her attempting it numerous times with her DC.

AIBU to just think it's a bit weird? Confused

OP posts:

You have to be quite a bit of of a twat to deliberately throw anything in a baby’s face for a laugh. You’re a massive cunt to film it and put it online for other cunts to laugh at it. Who started this anyway, those attention seekers from LadBaby again?

BarkandCheese · 04/03/2019 11:37

If I threw an entire slice of processed cheese at my dog she’d think all her Christmases had come at once.

SaucyJack · 04/03/2019 11:56

Nah, not funny.

It’d be one thing doing it to an older kid who can either join in with the joke, or get up and walk away if they don’t like it.

Bit weird doing it to a strapped in baby who doesn’t know what the helll is going. The baby in the video I watched wasn’t enjoying having things thrown in his face at all.

TeddyIsaHe · 04/03/2019 19:12

It’s not about how many goes it takes or why does it matter what kind of cheese??

It’s adults doing something for likes at the expense of someone who cannot defend themselves, cannot say no, cannot object in anyway. And if you don’t find that horrifying then what the hell is wrong with you?

RosemarysBush · 04/03/2019 20:17

Nope. The baby in link looked terrified. Not fair.
And how is that a challenge?

cravingmilkshake · 04/03/2019 21:31

I don't have children- pregnant with my first one, but I wouldn't dream of doing this... fucking awful. The children look petrified!

PolaDeVeboise · 04/03/2019 21:50

Awful. What if the corner goes in the eye? Cruelty.

Amfeelingfline · 04/03/2019 21:58

I just don’t understand some people...it looks everything but funny...poor kids.

Bananasarenottheonlyfruit · 04/03/2019 22:00

Looks like child abuse to me. Deliberately scaring and confusing a baby like that. The video cuts off at 10 seconds. I would guess that by 15 seconds, the baby was crying and upset, trying to get it off its face.

And as for the lobbing a burger in a kids face. The paper could easily scratch his cornea, it whacked him right in the eye. Stupid and dangerous.

ethelfleda · 05/03/2019 13:53

I completely agree. Just heard about this and it’s made me very fucking angry. Just for cheap likes on FB!
DH said he hopes that when the parents are old and senile and shitting themselves that their children do it back to them and plaster it all over social media just to ridicule them further.

Fucking morons.

dudsville · 05/03/2019 13:55

I didn't realise this was a thing. I saw a video on a meme sharing website and quickly moved on as it seemed so rude. I know it's a baby but surely it's still rude?

QuirkyQuark · 05/03/2019 14:01

Im disappointed, I thought it was going to be a challenge I could get on board with, like how fast can you eat your own body weight in mature cheddar...
Not some idiotic, wasteful, unkind pathetic attempt at humour. I despair in humanity.

ethelfleda · 05/03/2019 14:01

dudsville it’s worse because it is a baby, surely? They don’t understand what’s going on or that it’s been done for cheap laughs etc

squeezysparklyballs · 05/03/2019 14:06

I don't understand all these 'challenges'. Why do people do them?

TheMuminator2 · 05/03/2019 14:08

As bad as the Pie Challenge which had kids with cream all over their faces and in tears. YT needs to do something about this child abuse which passes for entertainment

ethelfleda · 05/03/2019 17:44

Wasn’t there a lemon challenge as well where they people got their babies to try lemon and film their reaction? Utter idiots.

TeddyIsaHe · 05/03/2019 18:44

People do them because they can’t think critically or for themselves and ‘likes’ are more important to them than questioning what shite the internet tells them to do. I despair at the world sometimes.

SofaSurfer20 · 05/03/2019 18:46

My dad would have done this to me and my sister, I'd have laughed.

Relax a bit. No one is lobbing a wheel of cheese at a baby. Jesh.

Fromage · 05/03/2019 18:53

I can't put my thoughts better than this - this is what manversusbaby had to say, on instagram:

Been asked a few times over the past couple of days what I think of this ‘Cheese challenge’ craze. I’ve heard opinions ranging from ‘its child abuse’ to ‘it’s hilarious’. It’s neither. (I wouldn’t diminish either definition by applying it to whatever the fuck this is.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From what I’ve seen, the reaction of the baby varies too.. from bewildered and upset to laughter and it seems an obvious point to make but, aside from anything else, before you throw cheese at your clueless kid, you’ve no idea which reaction it will cause.. so, its obviously a dick thing to do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know my opinion on this counts for less than nothing, but if you do choose to take part in this ‘craze’ I hope for two things:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  1. That your little one isn’t upset by it, even a little. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  2. And this...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ...One day you yourself may be in this infant state again. When age and infirmity throws its cloak over your wizened body, time completes its inexorable circle, and the child becomes father to the man. And when that day comes and your child becomes responsible for your most basic of needs I hope they throw a lump of cheddar in your stupid fucking dumb face.
TeddyIsaHe · 05/03/2019 20:05

@SofaSurfer20 are you that blasé about all forms of consent? It might be funny to you, but that baby can’t tell its parents it doesn’t want this happen. Perhaps mirror yourself on people who understand the concept of consent rather than people who think shit like this is funny because it’s ‘not a wheel of cheese’

Raffles1981 · 05/03/2019 21:23

How is this ok, yet a woman pours water on her sleeping baby and people go nuts. This is the same thing in my opinion. If any of my friends did this and posted it on FB, I would no longer be their friend. Disgusting behaviour and not funny.

Raffles1981 · 05/03/2019 21:30

The wasabi challenge is also gaining momentum. People can really suck.

pitterpatterbaby · 05/03/2019 21:32

My teenage son would probably find this hilarious. I would not however do it to a baby/young child!

FissionChip5 · 05/03/2019 21:39

That baby one is really upsetting, wish I’d never watched it.

Some parents are absolutely shite.

IAmNotAWitch · 05/03/2019 21:40

This is what happens to society when you remove all of the predators.
