Well it depends, if you have watched it and deem it suitable then no big deal. If it’s violent abc might upset them then no, if it’s ‘adult’ humour that will go over their head then it’s your call...

Dd7 has watched all of the Harry Potters.

Just got to common sense media and type in the specific film. it's usually very sensible advice. I might go up or down by a year or so depending on the maturity and sensitivity of the kid but basically trust their advice.

What's the film

Depends. If I'd seen the film already, was familiar with the content and happy for my child to watch it then yes.

A new film I'd never seen before? Nope, not at all. Not worth the risk imo.

Totally depends on film but my dd is 8 and has been going to watch 12A films with her dad since 6. They are both film fanatics and he does read a lot about the content etc to see it suitable and watches trailers but obviously this is only a snapshot of the film.

Some kids are scared of clowns whilst others are petrified of dinosaurs, I would judge each film on their individual content/genre.

Yeah Jurassic World should be fine just remind her it’s not real!

Depends how scared of the man-eating dinos they are likely to get. The lavatory scene is violent and the kitchen hide and seek very tense.
On the other hand there are some beautiful scenes with the docile dinosaurs.

Cant remember Jurassic World but my 7 year old is obsessed with dinosaurs but I wont show him Jurassic Park for a few years as its incredibly violent and scary. Lots of suspense too and id be worried about nightmares.

Yes. My 3 and 5 YO have seen Jurassic World. But they have also watched lots of dinosaur documentaries.

There are other 12A films I wouldn't let them anywhere near!

DS is 7 in June and has seen a few 12s, all the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films for a start. He’s not easily scared. We’re watching Merlin (bbc series from a few years ago) on Netflix at the moment and he’s loving it.
On the other hand he’s not allowed video games like fortnite and won’t be.

Sorry just saw that is was JW. This is one of dd's favourite films ever but I've just asked her opinion and she said if it's fallen kingdom then it's quite scary.

Mine’s 5 and has seen all the Jurassic park movies several times and lives them. We’re looking forward to the newest one coming out on Now Tv next weekend.
My older dd has not seen any of them as she gets scared easily!

The ITV 2 pre-watershed version is edited, it is not the 12A of the cinema. Given its timeslot, I would suspect it's been edited suitable to 6-7 year olds - although any child might be upset by particular themes.

It'll certainly be "PG" in that timeslot, may even be a U.

If I had a 6 year old dinosaur lover, I would.

Yes, as it’s 12A for a reason - young kids can see them at the cinema with an adult and I’ve done this. I wouldn’t if I had a child who scared easily or was sensitive though.
