We were told to see Jurassic Park by our soon to be teacher when we were 9. I think Jurassic world may be scarier, but it should be less scary on a smaller screen than at the cinema. I would lean towards 8-10 though.

Rubusfruticosus · 02/03/2019 19:52

It'll certainly be "PG" in that timeslot, may even be a U. RadioTimes says 12, it would say 12a if it was referring to the cinema rating wouldn't it?

RavenousBabyButterfly · 02/03/2019 19:54

Depends on the child and the film.

moglovesredroses · 02/03/2019 19:55

Ds is 7 and loves the jurassic world movies, but won't watch jurassic park as it's scary Confused

ShabbyAbby · 02/03/2019 20:09

First time I've had this issue Blush we are watching it but will turn it off if it gets scary

Rubusfruticosus I suspect the radio times is not taking account the edits - they don't actually re-certify the film, 'cos the certifications are just for cinema or DVD releases. You might however be right, I see it's actually starting at 7:40 so might be in the "8pm" edits, rather than the earlier one, I thought it was 6pm when I looked before.

There's a reddit thread suggesting the itv2 version had been butchered!

Smoggle · 02/03/2019 20:57

Mine have seen Jurassic World and Star Wars - they are fairly robust children though.

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 02/03/2019 20:59

My 3 year old watches all of them and hums the theme tune to herself at night 😂

There's nothing scary about Jurassic Park! We are all team dino anyway and are pleased when they get fed Grin

ShabbyAbby · 02/03/2019 20:59

Apparently it was boring Confused I think there were too many adverts

Ds7 watched it at 6 but I wouldn't let him watch Jurassic world 2

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 02/03/2019 21:10

I took ds 3 to the cinema. He loved it.
Loves all of the films.
Total dinosaur buff now!!
