Ds will finally reliably take a bottle of expressed milk so I went out last night. All good intentions of having only a couple and coming home around 11, well that didn't quite happen.

Before Ds I never got hangovers, I'd be up and fine the next day.
But omg I feel like I'm dying. Dp brought me a cup of tea and nurofen which eased my headache a little bit, but still I feel awful. He says I need food and he'll make me a bacon but I'm not so sure 🤢

And my boobs are killing from not feeding. Why did no one warn me of this 😫

You need to rehydrate. Drink deoralite and have a couple of packs of salty taytos.

CheerioHunter · 02/03/2019 09:57

I always have the urge to make a pint of Nesquick chocolate milkshake.

Never drink the stuff any other time!

E20mom · 02/03/2019 10:03

Dioralyte is the only answer!

Holidayshopping · 02/03/2019 10:05

Mum of the Year 🙄

What?!!

Sciurus83 · 02/03/2019 10:09

Not really the point but how did you get the baby to take a bottle? Mine won't and I love wine....

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 02/03/2019 10:11

i love that little rolly eyed smiley, so much venom!

Also love that Hoopaloop probably won't come back and will be convinced that the MNVipers are recommending Class A drugs as hangover cures :o

nooo, I swear, I read it, it was on mumsnet

ShabbyAbby · 02/03/2019 10:13

A can of full fat coke, bacon sandwich, and a couple of nurofen plus with a pint of water. In that order.
Also, can you express now? That will make you more comfortable (unless they're hot too in which case cabbage leaves in your bra!)

thebabessavedme · 02/03/2019 10:14

I wonder if a line of coke would cure a hangover though? (i always wonder how people snort it, i sneeze for ages if i get dust up me snoze Grin)

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 10:17

It was Dp really @Sciurus83. And a lot of perseverance on his part. We found the what I'd consider old fashioned looking bottles with the brownish teat, Ds preferred those Dp had to warm the teet slightly, and hold something I'd worn close to him so my pj top, then he had to kind of jiggle him to keep him drinking.

Well done to your dh for taking your makeup off!

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 10:21

I've eaten half a bacon sandwich and I'm sipping coke. Not been sick and feeling a little better if still rather delicate. Not ventured from bed yet but Dp is running me a bath, because I feel yucky.
I've expressed so the boobs feel better at least, just unsure on if you feed him it or not. Goggle said 2 hours after each drink but I don't know if that's 2 hours from drinking it or two hours per drink.

NannyRed · 02/03/2019 10:23

Full sugar coke, a couple of paracetamol and marmite on toast. The vitamin B in the marmite definitely helps. (Scientifically /medically proven)

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 10:26

I was apparently sat in the bathroom refusing to go to bed because I needed to take my makeup off @FrannySalinger
He actually used my cleanser and eye makeup remover though, I thought he'd have just used a baby wipe.

You’ll be fine to feed him your milk. Your body metabolises alcohol out your milk at the same rate it metabolises out your blood.

nolongersurprised · 02/03/2019 10:54

Feed the baby. The amount of alcohol in milk is the same as blood- so hardly any at all. Unless you’re still so tremendously intoxicated that a baby vampire would get drunk from your blood then it’ll be fine. Even if there is a smidgen of alcohol left it’d go through first pass metabolism (stomach-liver) before it enters his blood stream. Much much less alcohol than some of the old anti-colic remedies.

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 11:40

I've fed him now! You'd think he was starving the way he was sucking and he kept looking up to check. As much as he'll now take expressed milk he much prefers the it from the source.

It's the expressed milk I wasn't sure on keeping. I know I'd have been over the limit to drive when I expressed this morning. So I think I'll just tip it. Just seems such a waste of such precious stuff, but I'm probably being silly. I've lots in the freezer anyway.

My friend messaged 'same time next Friday, now you can be free' I'm like no way!
I'm thinking once every 3/4 months is all I can cope with if recovery time is this long. Luckily we've nothing planned for today. Dp is doing the cleaning, washing etc and I'm snuggled on the sofa watching charmed and feeling a tiny bit sorry for myself.

Did @Hoopaloop seriously think you meant cocaine?

Hmm
GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 12:02

I presumed it was meant as a joke @Rottencooking.

PawPawNoodle · 02/03/2019 14:16

To be fair the class A kind would probably bring you back in the room!

My hangover cure is a bottle of lucozade sport (orange preferably) for rehydration and sugar, bacon scrambled egg and beans on toast, and a little lay down.

Inapickle230 · 02/03/2019 14:52

Paracetamols, full fat coke, stodgy food and a hot bath. I don’t know why but having a bath really helps me.

Eliza9917 · 02/03/2019 15:21

Mcds. Works every time. Or, marmite on toast and fat Coke.

Gottalovesummer · 02/03/2019 15:32

Your DH sounds absolutely lovely!

And definitely recommend full fat coke of the drinking variety Grin

PinkHeart5914 · 02/03/2019 15:36

I think anyone that sees coke and assumes it’s cocaine has issues to be honest!

Full sugar coke ( as in cola obviously) is always needed after a heavy night and eat all the carbs you can find......

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 16:04

Dp got me a McD's for lunch, Mc chicken sandwich with large fries and strawberry milkshake 😋
He took Ds off for a walk round the park so I had a nap after I'd eaten and woke up feeling much better.
I'm definitely never ever drinking again or maybe I'll just stick to a few next and definitely should Prosecco I'm sure it was my friend suggesting bottles of that, that did it.

I'm currently drinking coke (coca cola) and eating cheese and onion crisps. Dp is making pizzas for tea. I feel ravenous though, I've asked him three times what time he's starting dinner.

GirlOnIt · 02/03/2019 17:39

Realised I've lost a lipstick though and spilt something red on my top which doesn't seem to be coming out. I'm sure going out didn't used to be so traumatic!
