All the pressure on one person in the family who doesn't want to go, the heartfelt messages from family all crying, leaving elderly family, giving up established businesses, it's all just so uncomfortable. Maybe I'm not adventurous enough but I can't imagine giving up everything just because things look nice and sunny on neighbours. Aibu?

That is so so true, juneau, it's usually one of the pair being an immature selfish twat who wants to drag the whole family with them.

"Ooo it's got a walk in wardrobe"
"I never realised what a long way it was"
"Quality time as a family"
"Their dream house that they can't afford"
A sick relative back home.

Bingo.

Did anyone see the one who moved to be near her sister - only for her sister to move to the other side of Australia. Take a hint love!

The one earlier in this series that really annoyed me was where the husband was working away all week and was really fed up with it ( understandably) and wanted to move to Oz so he could come home every evening/better work life balance etc. Was earning about 40k so whilst a decent salary, not exactly 6 figures. They had a 7 year old and 11 year old and the wife didn’t work.

Why would you let your husband do that when you could ease the pressure with at least a part time job so he could get a lesser paid, local job? Never understand women like that.

One sticks in my mind where the child kept choosing Britain (when they do that ridiculous flag turning bit) and the Mum actually turned to him and said "why did you pick Britain?" (or words to that effect) Felt so sorry for him, it was obvious both parents didn't care about their children's wishes. Obviously he picked Australia the next time, bit of emotional blackmail probably, bless him.
