Bae, when I rule the world anyone using that word will be sentenced to twenty years hard labour, thirty if they post “bae caught me sleeping lol” along with a faked selfie of them with their eyes closed.

Bouledeneige · 23/02/2019 09:34

I find pedants quite annoying.

Fuppy · 23/02/2019 09:35

"No offence but..."

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 23/02/2019 09:38

Literally - I literally died

No you fucking didn't.

MereDintofPandiculation · 23/02/2019 09:42

When someone nouns a verb or verbs a noun. or worse still, creates an unnecessary new noun or verb- "expiration date" - what's wrong with "expiry"? And there's several that I can't call to mind at the moment where "ise" is added to a noun to make a verb even though the noun has been derived from a shorter and perfectly adequate verb.

The thing I dislike about the “ girl code” is that it’s another way of defining what’s acceptable “good” behaviour for females. So a single woman sleeps with a married man yet she’s the one breaking the girl code. I’ve never heard anyone mention a boys code ever - because let’s face it we expect them to behave badly or we at least are willing to accept it. I’m all for morally good behaviour for everyone but you can fuck off if you think you’re laying your girl code on me.

Other than that I hate #blessed with a passion.

Naice
Bubba (sorry)
As a PP said , putting No? at the end of things

But most of all the way some come at a poster as if they are cross examining her/him in a court of law !

drogon1 · 23/02/2019 09:53

"Making memories" makes me want to recoil inside myself it makes me cringe that much.

Loads of my friends write it on social media too so I can't express my hatred of it anywhere but here!

zen1 · 23/02/2019 09:54

FIL hates the use of the word ‘issues’ instead of using ‘problems’.

Isitsixoclockalready · 23/02/2019 09:55

Vulpine - yes, 'pissed' instead of 'pissed off' and 'fess up' instead of 'own up'.

RollerJed · 23/02/2019 09:55

I was in a meeting the other day when they said the sentence '...so it will be sunseted' meaning finished up.

What. The. Actual. Fuck Hmm

thecatneuterer · 23/02/2019 09:56

@wanderings Eh? I've never heard it used that way. Either it's a regional thing or your husband doesn't understand English.

JaneJeffer · 23/02/2019 09:58

Using "that's hilarious" to disagree with someone. No it's not and neither are you.

Quintella · 23/02/2019 10:03

This thread seems to happen on a weekly basis. This and 'what word do you hate. I hate the word moist' followed by 387 people saying 'I hate the word moist too'.

As for 'girl code' it does sound a bit juvenile but it basically means don't be a cunt to your friends. For example, don't shag a friend's ex husband just because you can.

SureTry · 23/02/2019 10:10

Anything that is followed by ".... gives me life" or some dreary statement usually regarding a minor celeb finished with "and we're here for it"

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 23/02/2019 10:20

Sunseted ? loll Wtaf indeed.

BIL3 always says 'won' instead of 'beat'. As in 'I won him at squash'.

That's nice, dear. Are you going to put him on a shelf or in the cabinet?

MaryBoBary · 23/02/2019 12:36

When ordering food at a restaurant and people say “I’ll get the...”.

It’s so annoying- you won’t get anything, the server will get it for you. And what happened to please?

I think it’s an American phrase but I hear it more and more here

lettymoo · 23/02/2019 13:07

Anyone who calls their parents "the madre" and "the padre" ought to be shot. Looking at you DSSis (with a silent D)

DameSquashalot · 23/02/2019 13:45

DameSquashalot · 23/02/2019 13:48

"you've won the internet today" really annoys me 😠

PinkDrink · 23/02/2019 13:53

Any statements that are given the intonation of questions. So the speaker sounds permanently puzzled.
