To think £250 on gas and electric is far too much?

I'm currently paying £250 a month for gas and electricity on a 4 bed semi detached pretty standard house. Aibu to think this is crazy high.

What are others paying and how can I reduce this

Well, if you've verified that all the numbers are actual, not estimates, turn off your circuits one at a time to see where it's being used.

You haven't got electric underfloor heating or an electric shower?

Tell your household to turn off their mains-powered computers first. Anything else you will just need to reset the clocks afterwards.

The amount of electricity you are using would make a room uncomfortably warm.

OP that seems super hig

We are in 4 bed semi
Got underfloor (water not elecatric) in new extnesion big room
Electric underfloor in a bathroom on timer
PHEV car that we plug in
also shiftowork / i wfh a lot so we do have it on
lots of gadgets
occasional tumble dry not much

anyway we went from 80 pm recently to 160!!!!

turned the thermostat on underfloor back a bit and also the hot water timer on an hour less etc managed to cut gas by 1/4
but i was still aghast at it doubling when we'd not changed anything
i suppose it all just went up a lot and we were on a fixed before

it's all a bit of a nightmare all round
