Jjjdm · 21/02/2019 18:53

hi we have a drop curb now our neighbour she likes to drive up the street then drives onto our drop curb to drive just a bit further up on the path to park her car outside her house next door so her car is all 4 wheels on the path and same for when she gets into her car drives right on the path and comes off onto the road using our drop curb but the other day i was reversing out of our drive way and didn't even see her coming down on the path to come off using our drop curb omg i was angry, i have asked her to stop doing that but unfortunately she told me to ++++ off she is a vile neighbour and the mouth on her she needs soap.we had had quite a lot of crap from her since she moved in like reporting me for putting my bin out the night before collection i told the guy when he come out she was only peed off because she couldn't use our drop curb to drive on becuase bin was out.she shouted to him (IF I WONT TO USE THAT CURB I WILL).had a lot of compliance letters we know its her but in all cases have not done anything wrong, she is a vile woman.is there something i can do about her using the drop curb problem

Very difficult to understand with the lack of punctuation! As long as she's not parking over the drop curb I don't see the problem. You don't actually own the curb....

BeautyWasTheBeast · 21/02/2019 18:56

Report her for parking on the pavement??

Lazypuppy · 21/02/2019 18:57

You don't own the curb. As long as she isn't actually driving onto your property (doesn't sound like she is) then she isn't doing anything massively wrong by using the drop curve (apart from parking entirely on the pavement which is another issue)

kitkatsky · 21/02/2019 18:59

Sorry, what? Reverse or ???

You might benefit from the dropped curve to get your car up driveway bit if she's not parked across it I don't see the issue? It's both of your job to check there is no traffic approaching before using it, isn't it?

Chloemol · 21/02/2019 19:00

THr curb and the path will belong to your local highways authority. Unless there is a no parking on verges order they won’t do anything

ThePants999 · 21/02/2019 19:00

Sorry to be an annoying pedant, but: "kerb" in British & Australian English, "curb" is American.

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2019 19:00

Doesn't the kerb belong to the council. I am not seeing a problem.

YetAnotherThing · 21/02/2019 19:01

You don’t own the road outside your street nor the dropped curve. But she shouldn’t have all 4 wheels (or any) on the pavement, so maybe you could take a photo and send to council and complain she’s obstructing the pavement for wheelchairs/pushchairs....a regular parking fine should stop it (although be warned, she might start parking on your drive instead).....

Fattymcfaterson · 21/02/2019 19:01

So the issue is that you reversed off your drive without looking?

It could of been a pedestrian on the drop kerb.
Honestly I'd worry more about looking where your bloody going than her parking outside her house

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 21/02/2019 19:02

You don’t own the curb! Are you always so highly strung over something so trivial Hmm

Pinkyyy · 21/02/2019 19:02

I'm sorry OP but you're going to have to tell us what the problem is, using some punctuation. I'd like to help but genuinely can't make out what you're asking.

HeckinHell · 21/02/2019 19:02

I wouldn’t bring up not seeing her car when you were reversing - it would usually be people on a pavement and they’re much smaller/harder to notice! That one won’t helo you much in an argument.

I guess you could report her for parking on the pavement, but if she’s not actually blocking the access to your drive I guess it’s only a brief moment when she’s in front of your house and probably not worth getting stressed out over.

CluedoAddict · 21/02/2019 19:04

It's dropped kerb not drop curb. You don't own the road.

bourbonbiccy · 21/02/2019 19:05

I am reading correctly, you are annoyed as she uses your dropped kerb to get off the pavement ....seriously !!!!
How dud you not see her reversing down the pavement at you ?
Think you are making an issue out of nothing, as PP have said so long as she is not blocking your drive you don't own the kerb.

justasyouare · 21/02/2019 19:06

I’m reading it as she’s using the OPs kerb to get onto the pavement, then driving along the pavement to her own house a few doors down.
If so, that’s not on. Bloody dangerous and illegal!

F1amingo · 21/02/2019 19:09

You both sound like loons. Sorry.

Whynham · 21/02/2019 19:10

The curb doesn't belong to you but neither does the pavement so you can report her for parking and booking the way.

LIZS · 21/02/2019 19:11

Is she causing an obstruction on the pavement or accessing the front of her property?

GregoryPeckingDuck · 21/02/2019 19:12

The title tobthis thread would make a good name for a rap song.

CheeseWheel · 21/02/2019 19:13

You can't report her for using the drop kerb to park. My neighbour uses the drop kerb in front of my drive to pull up in front of their house next door. As long as they don't block my drive it's their right to do so. It's not my kerb, it's my drive but I don't own the kerb, the path or the road that runs by it.

You can report her for parking with all 4 wheels on the kerb. Take photos of her doing it at different times/days and send them to your local pcso. That's what we did here when we had issues with idiots blocking the pavement by parking on it.

BreconBeBuggered · 21/02/2019 19:14

What's that about the bins?

BoomBoomsCousin · 21/02/2019 19:15

If, by path, you mean the public pavement then I think you should report her for driving on and parking on the pavement because that's not very civic minded, but her using the dropped kerb is neither here nor there.

If, by path, you mean a path between your two houses that one or both of you own so she is driving onto your drive and then over to park on her own path in front of her own house you have a point and might benefit from some form of gate across your drive.

SpringForEver · 21/02/2019 19:15

It is not that difficult to understand the OP, no need to be so picky.

All I can suggest is to report her for parking on the pavement, obstructing or whatever.

kaytee87 · 21/02/2019 19:16

This is really difficult to read as there's no punctuation or paragraphs.
If the issue is that she's using the dropped kerb to park further up then that's totally normal and isn't unreasonable.
If the issue is that she's blocking the pavement with her parking then that's not ok and should be reported.
If the issue is that she's blocking your driveway then that's not ok either.

CheeseWheel · 21/02/2019 19:16

Also if you genuinely didn't see her driving a car down the pavement then you ready need to be much much more careful when reversing. Normally you would expect people on the pavement and should look for them. A car is far more visible than a person.

Please take care when reversing off your drive. If you have reduced visibility due to hedges or something you need to sort it out. Not being able to see someone who is just a few feet from where you are reversing is a big danger.
