AIBU to dislike Eamon Holmes

For the way he speaks to Ruth. He's always putting her down and making disparaging remarks about the way she dresses or the things she says.
She doesn't retaliate as she's being professional, but I would like to think she calls him out on it off air.

My DH knows him - he says he is absolutely lovely. One of the nicest people he worked with in TV.

I've never liked him either but my son has worked with him and says the same as above. I was very disappointed when I heard he was really nice.

I also heard he is a lovely man, he used to be funny, I think he is very immature, As much as I think Ruth should push off him the couch, I think she adores him, and vice versa.
She has admitted on LW to getting insanely jealous of other females around Eamonn. I think she is insecure in some ways,but doesn't take his messed up sense of humour to heart.

Don't be ridiculous. Eamon and Ruth wind each other up constantly and tease each other. Ruth can hold her own in the banter they share. If you bothered to take notice they adore each other.
Ruth is the 'boss' in that relationship, they've both said so.

Interesting that you son says this too. DH worked in TV radio many years back (production) but was also a radio broadcaster himself so he knows a lot of TV and radio people.
We can be watching TV and he'll come out with random anecdotes about various people. He always says nice things about Eamon though. I'm ambivalent about him on the TV myself.

Feel a bit meh about Eammon but I have a strong dislike for James Nesbitt. Cold eyes and vampire teeth. Cannot understand how he gets all the good looking women in Cold Feet. Perhaps I am missing something.

I remember him working on breakfast TV with Anthes Turner and he really disliked her and didn't hide it.
Im with him on that one. I can't stand her either

There's nothing irrational about a dislike of James Corden.

I dislike Ruth above Eammon though, I think she's very affected.

I remember my dad hated him when I was a kid in the 80/90s. He’s a smarm-bag. It’s not at all irrational to dislike him.

DH dislikes him because he cut him up or something while driving. Same for Jeremy Clarkson apparently.

I’ve worked with them together. They are two of the loveliest people in TV. He ADORES her and it’s just part of their schtick. She adores him too.

He’d separated from his wife before he met Ruth (I’ve worked with him on and off a long time).

He is extremely pleasant to work with and very very professional. I like them both.

I disagree Sparkling; I find him easy to watch but that’s why we make telly with lots of different people - give you some choice!

(apart from PS & HW who are every bloody where Hmm)
