To ask if triple bunk beds are the pain in the arse I imagine them to be?

Thinking if purchasing some for my dd and step children to create more space in the bedroom.

But I just imagine them to be a pain. How do you change the sheets on the very top bunk? Don't imagine the middle one would be easy either.

And making the beds? The only thing I like the dcs to do is make their beds on a daily basis. Im a bit ocd and can't cope with un-made beds 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyone bought them for their dcs? Yay or nay?

I love these beds. I’m saving up one for my two children.

This is their site

kidsfuntimebeds.co.uk/product-tag/sleeping-3/

I’ve alrwady filtered it to sleeping 3

Just make sure the ladders have flat steps as runs. We have metal frame bunk beds and the ladders have metal bars. They are no narrow they kill my feet to climb up when I have to change the sheet.

If the top of the triple bed is higher than a regular bunk, then I imagine it could be a pain, as I have to kneel on the top bunk and crouch I can't reach the far corners of the mattress by just putting my arms over the side. Perhaps putting one of the step kids in the top bunk so it isn't used so often, means it would be changed less often?

There's some great ideas on Pinterest for triple bunk beds that a bit different from just stacking horizontally

If they are only there on the weekend (EOW?) the sheets won't need changing very often.

I am thinking about the offset ones for my children whilst waiting to afford an extension, my plan was to get those and put those over bed tents over so each child had a bit more privacy

Thanks for the suggestions! I love these ones with the steps, more than I intended on spending but oh well :-)

They are here every other full weekend and one night the other weekend. Basically they sleep every weekend and half the school holidays.

Youngest still wets the bed frequently which is why I just want something that's not too much hassle.

Going to show these to dh tonight x

These have 25% off at minute ...expensive but seem well built.

Some good suggestions here.

My feeling would be that yes at times you’ll curse when you change the sheets, but your probably already cursing every single time you have to ‘get the room ready’ for bed time, which is presumably every night and morning they’re with you. Instead of a change of sheets every weekend/every other weekend.

Plus the kids will love it, they’ll love the extra space. And as you say, it’s a great way to make it ‘their’ space, instead of feeling like visitors. Just simply from the fact that they can all leave even just one teddy on the bed in the morning, that doesn’t have to be packed away to make the room useable with the current set up.

I have the beds linked by longtimelurkerhelen. I think they are great and though the middle bunk isn't as tall my 14 Yr old manages fine sleeping in it. We have had them from toddler to teens for around 5 years. I make them change their beds though 😂
