I have to wonder why I bother.

Seems I don't see anyone unless I go to them.

Made sure I was home from visiting family. Let down Larry is a no show again.

They text me yesterday to confirm time. It replied.

Sat here like tripe at four pence again. Heard nothing.

I kinda refuse to chase now. AIBU to now ignore them?

Ho fucking hum.

If it was cheese at four pence it wouldn't be sat waiting.

Everyone would want it 🥴 this is not the case for me.

I. Am. Tripe 😱

Gawd I have a friend like this. Given up now. I refuse to live my life round her mucking me about.

I found the OP perfectly understandable.

TripeAtFourPence · 19/02/2019 01:02

YANBU OP
I love your turn of phrase though 😁 you deserve better friends!

KatoPotato · 19/02/2019 01:12

My dad used to say 'cheese at four pence' I thought he was saying 'Thornton's' for years, and assumed you felt in the wrong place Grin

user1486250399 · 19/02/2019 07:06

OP in that case I just wouldn't reply to her text. Ever. If she pushes the point, just say you'd rather not make plans to meet again as you end up cutting other plans short for no reason.

Damntheman · 19/02/2019 07:27

Ugh texting an hour after due is NOT OKAY! Your friends seem to universally consider their own time more important than yours. Unless the 'somthing that came up' was a relative being blue lighted to hospital there is simply no excuse for not letting you know earlier that they wouldn't make it.

Time to make some better friends OP, I'm sorry you have such shitty people in your life!

Troels · 19/02/2019 08:15

Have you text back?
If I didn't care to see them again I'd probably text. Pity it's never me that is the "something came up" thanks for wasting my afternoon.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 10:30

Well. No visit for me this afternoon. Person I'm visiting has just cancelled 😐 least I have notice!!

Would anyone like some tripe 😂🤔🤔

I suspect what's wrong with you is terrible taste in friends!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 11:15

I have a small social circle. It's diminished since being poorly.

Not sure where I'd find some new friends tbh

Just trying to think of another way to spend my free afternoon!

OP posts:
Damntheman · 19/02/2019 12:04

I'd suggest trying out some clubs and hobbies if you've got the time, or hanging out socially online if not. You deserve so much better than flaky friends! You sound lovely.

RelaisBlu · 19/02/2019 12:13

What bad luck OP that you've been let down today as well.
Treat yourself to a trip to the cinema with coffee & cake afterwards - there's some great films on at the moment

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 12:38

I don't think I've ever been to the cinema alone... I suppose I could!

I even have bogof tickets - maybe I could make someone's day and give them the freebie ticket!!

FunkyBarn - What? Do it - you'll never look back! I love going on my own and do so as often as I can

emilybrontescorsett · 19/02/2019 15:48

I've heard the saying before.
Go to the cinema op.
At disastrous won't have anyone say next to you 😁
Get yourself some goodies and a drink and enjoy.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 19/02/2019 16:30

I came home and flopped! Nee matter I'll pop some corn and sit with Netflix instead!

So I have plans at the weekend.... It's going to be fine.... Right?!

I'm starting to feel anxious about it however 😐

Meeting some friends for a meal and maybe drinks.

OP posts:
AlexaAmbidextra · 21/02/2019 00:37

The post is perfectly understandable. Love ‘tripe at fourpence’. 😄
