To ask if it’s ok to wear sunglasses in winter?

I’m sat outside school. It’s a sunny day, I look dreadful after another sleepless night m, thanks to my baby dc Grin

So is it acceptable to wear sunglasses in winter (to hide the bags under my eyes)?

I use them all year round - ha ha ha- I have huge eye bags!

feelingverylazytoday · 19/02/2019 12:13

I wear shades all year round, even in the rain sometimes. Don't give a fuck what other people think. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in (as long as your privates are covered, it doesn't smell, or have offensive messages on it) and allow other people to do the same.

emilybrontescorsett · 19/02/2019 12:17

I wore them after having my eyes lasered too.
I was self conscious but then couldn't manage without them.

Opheliablox · 19/02/2019 12:22

I do. I read once from a dermatologist that we should wear sunglasses every day from March to October.

thecatsthecats · 19/02/2019 12:22

I always have both my sunglasses and a small tube of suncream on me all year around. The sunglasses come out a lot, and the mini tube of suncream has been the occassional life saver in sunny winter days.

@seena - this morning I had to take a punt on the road as a pedestrian in low winter sun!

user1457017537 · 19/02/2019 12:24

I bet Prince Philip wishes he had worn them recently!

shockthemonkey · 19/02/2019 12:52

Even more important to wear them in winter!

Sun being low in the sky, sometimes reflecting off of snow too, it can be very very aggressive on the eyes.

ShowMeTheKittens · 19/02/2019 17:52

I hate it when women wear them for driving and IT IS CLEAR THEY CANNOT ACTUALLY FUCKING SEE!
sorry just a small rant about STUPID SURREY WOMEN!
I'm fine now.

ethelfleda · 19/02/2019 17:55

God no. I had them on today for very similar reasons. For my comfort - sod what other people might think!

WarpedGalaxy · 19/02/2019 17:58

How do you know they can't see ShowMeTheKittens? What is it that makes it "CLEAR THEY CANNOT ACTUALLY FUCKING SEE!"? Come on, please explain this superpower you have of being able to see through someone else's eyes from behind their sunglasses.

Jsmith99 · 19/02/2019 18:03

Yes of course. I wear my prescription sunglasses for driving as often in winter as at any other time of year. The low winter sun can be blinding. I couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks. It’s about safety, not a fashion parade.

Pk37 · 19/02/2019 18:07

Um... yes!
If I don’t wear sunglasses when it’s sunny (no matter the season) I get a major headache

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 19/02/2019 20:40

Hi @ShowMeTheKittens

You rang?

Trust me I wear them to basically avoid ploughing into you at 50mph just as I’m going into Weybridge but I’ll take your memo and act accordingly Grin

ShowMeTheKittens · 19/02/2019 22:28

I say this from the number of incidents in which women blinded by designer glasses on dark days who swerve and then clamp the brakes on, outside local schools.
Warped Galaxy;Oh dear, I think you misunderstand. I am unable to see through other people's glasses. I hope I have cleared that up.

NutElla5x · 20/02/2019 04:59
