Works wonders for my arthritis. I buy from CB Brothers. Fantastic stuff.

Yogagirl123 · 16/02/2019 14:07

I take CBD oil, I have MS, and many of my friends with MS take it and recommended it to me.

It has helped with my sleep, I still don’t usually sleep all night, but it has also helped with the anxiety and general pain. Haven’t noticed any negative effects.

I am concerned that FSA are thinking of banning it from sale on the high street, as it is marketed as a novel food, for 12-18 month, whilst they assess it, there big article in the Daily Mail as while back.

easyandy101 · 16/02/2019 14:07

I sell cbd

I get alot of very high praise reports as feedback

Negatives have only been that some people did not find it as effective as they hoped

I haven't had any reports back of adverse reactions in any form

I've personally only used it as a topical ointment, never tried the supplements, edibles or vapeable stuff. I found the topical ointment effective despite using it with a pretty cynical mindset

Biancadelrioisback · 16/02/2019 14:16

Both DH and I use it for our anxiety. I don't care if it is a placebo, it works wonders

U2HasTheEdge · 16/02/2019 14:28

I want some I can vape. Sounds very good.

easyandy101 · 16/02/2019 14:30

I want some I can vape. Sounds very good.

In terms of bio availability and fastest onset I believe that vaping is the most effective delivery system for it

We sell a product by a company called greeneo that's available in 3 doses of 200mg, 400mg and 800mg

It is not cheap

Notnowsey · 16/02/2019 14:32

I have started using CBD oil in the last month.l have a torn cuff in my right shoulder which is very painful ,lots of the usual medication that my GP prescribed just do nothing to ease the pain or help me sleep at night. Tried CBD oil out of desperation never taken recreational drugs so very happy that l tried work wounders.

TidyDancer · 16/02/2019 15:21

@Biancadelrioisback where do you buy yours and what type for anxiety? I've been looking into this for myself but it's hard to know what to get. Thanks in advance for any help!

Darkestnight · 16/02/2019 15:28

Does it make you feel light headed at all ?

BlueMerchant · 16/02/2019 15:32

Family member has started using it to help with his Parkinson symptoms. Believes it has a positive effect.

easyandy101 · 16/02/2019 15:32

Does it make you feel light headed at all ?

Not ime

It is not totally without noticeable effect but it does not get you high

It can/does make certain people very relaxed though, the sort of couch lock effect you get off certain strains of weed but without the psychoactive/psychedelic part

TheHobbitMum · 16/02/2019 15:38

I've been using CBD for years, it's fantastic stuff! I use it for pain mostly but can't recommend it enough. Do make sure yiy use a reputable company and avoid the low strength types that Holland and Barrett etc sell

Snuffalo · 16/02/2019 16:14

Placebo and nonsense. No reputable studies have proven any effect whatsoever.

NekoShiro · 16/02/2019 16:18

Placebo and nonsense. No reputable studies have proven any effect whatsoever.

Have you personally tried it?

Yogagirl123 · 16/02/2019 16:22

Why would it matter if it’s a placebo? If it helps people living with disability, and chronic pain that’s got to be a good thing right?

notacooldad · 16/02/2019 16:24

This is an interesting thread.
I suggested CBD oil to D this morning for an arthritic pain but I don't know much about it.

Elephantina · 16/02/2019 16:25

I ordered some formulated for pets - for my dog's anxiety and IVDD. Had to order it from US in a decent strength, extracted from seeds AND flowers (seed is just hemp oil I think), suspended in krill oil. It arrived yesterday and I gave her a small dose just to see if she had any adverse effects initially - all seemed well, no violent allergic reaction, so I'll try a therapeutic dose tonight with her dinner.

If it stops her pestering us repeatedly in the early hours it'll be rather useful, but I think it's a cumulative effect.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 16/02/2019 16:25

There is always one Hmm

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 16/02/2019 16:26

I have used it OP . Bought it in a vape shop .

It helped my aching shoulders and neck somewhat but as a PP said, it is not cheap . I vape mine but there are ones that you just drip under your tongue (according to the chap in the vape shop)

notacooldad · 16/02/2019 16:36

Please could posters give me a little advice on this.
How do you know what product to use, oil or capsule and what strength or is it just trial and error.
Dp has a knackered old shoulder and is in constant pain. I said I would look into CBD but don't really know where to start.( although thinking about it the starting point should have been Mn!)

Housingcraze · 16/02/2019 16:51

Pet one - how much do you give ??

I took care of my Mom who had dementia. In the final stages she was almost always in pain “all over”; also she became extremely anxious and was hostile to me to the point of combativeness when I would try to clean her up after incontinence, etc. since she was no longer capable of understanding why I had to do it.

As OTC meds recommended by her doctors for pain were no longer helping and I didn’t want to go with suggested prescriptions because of worries about side effects/adverse reactions/oversedation (retired nurse so had some basis for my thinking), I decided to try CBD.

The difference was like day and night.

She no longer said she was in pain and I could actually have a conversation with her while cleaning her up instead of dodging punches, attempted bites etc.

Given the degree of her dementia I really doubt if placebo effect was a factor, so I’m sold!

Agree with pp to be careful about the source; I’m in the US of A so won’t mention specific vendors (laws here vary from state to state). One thing to check is the actual concentration of CBD in the oil. There are some places that market plain hemp oil as “hemp oil/CBD” which contains very little actual CBD.

Vaping wasn’t an option so I gave it sublingually which is usually better absorbed than orally, so that might be an option for you if you don’t want to bother with vaping.

I don’t have a need for it but took a hefty dose once and felt very relaxed. One of my sisters uses it for sleep and has found it very helpful. It works best when taken on a regimen as opposed to “as needed”.

Only downside as far as I can see: not cheap!

Sorry for lengthy (first) post — will have to work on that!

Squeakyheart · 16/02/2019 17:04

I had a friend take it and they reacted badly, was very dizzy and unable to get to the phone. We ended up having to get a relative to go and check on them after not answering phones and they won't take it again. That was sublingual

Pluginwall · 16/02/2019 17:04

My DF uses it for his Parkinson’s tremors. Within 2 days his tremors had decreased significantly and he put on some weight; however, it is not a cure and, as his Parkinson’s progresses, the tremors are increasing.

Pluginwall · 16/02/2019 17:07

How do you know what product to use, oil or capsule and what strength or is it just trial and error.

DF gets his from CBD Bros - there are several CBD UK Facebook groups whose members give advice
