To tell you Dd has been selected to study separate sciences at GCSE

She is in yr 9 and at her school they start their gcse options in yr 9. They have to achieve a certain level of attainment and effort to be entered into separate sciences.

This is not a stealth boast it is an actual boast.

My dd is dyslexic and in year she couldn't read at all.

Great news, well done for your daughter. And being proud of her is only natural, boast away.

beerandpopcorn · 12/02/2019 16:24

Well done OP's girl!
Also well done that school! Chronic underfunding of schools make success stories like this sadly few and far between!

pilates · 12/02/2019 16:27

Boast away and well done to your daughter 👍

BitOutOfPractice · 12/02/2019 16:28

That's absolutely lovely

I love a boast like this!

Well done to your DD!

CantSpellforToffee · 12/02/2019 16:30

Congrats, Miss LEM.
From one dyslexic to another, I hope life continues to get easier for you.
Starting GCSEs made life much easier for me, as I dropped options containing stuff that took me a LONG time.
A levels again made life easier, as I could choose my preferred sciences and maths.

The world is your oyster. Embrace it Star

BOOM! Well done MiniLEM, all down to your own hard work!

Lovemusic33 · 12/02/2019 17:08

Well done, that’s great news. My daughter was selected last year but decided against taking it (I was slightly disappointed) so is doing combined science. None of the children in her year opted to take it which is sad.

I hope your dd does well, science is an important subject and there are a lack of women working in science and engineering. Well done to her xx
