To ask whether you’d wear your wedding dress to the party?

If you were going away to get married, just you and partner (second wedding, both have children from previous relationships), and having a “reception” afterwards when returned, would you wear the dress again? Or would that look really odd?

Yes I would! But I wore my wedding dress out on my first anniversary! Cost me over a grand I'll wear it out as much as possible lol!

Oh I did. Didn't feel odd at all. DH wore his kilt (but then men wear kilts for all occasions anyway). I wore my hair down and had a (fake) fur wrap for my wedding and had my hair up and wore a bolero jacket for the party. Same jewellery, accessories and hair decorations.

I'd expect you to wear it and be disappointed if you didn't. I've never heard of anyone not wearing their wedding dress when they've had a destination wedding and a reception later in this country. My niece did this recently.

I don't know how you're doing your hair but my niece also had her flowers in her hair done the same for her reception back home. We felt like we'd seen her as a bride and got photos of more than simply a party.

I’d be disappointed if the bride wasn’t in ‘the dress’ at the reception no matter when it was. Plus your back looks amazing I’m jealous! Wink

We got married abroad and then had a party at home. I wore my dress - it didn't cross my mind not to! I did need to get it cleaned beforehand tho - it's amazing how dirty wedding dresses get after wearing them

Yes, sil did this and it was fine - everyone was really dressed up for the party too.

Yes and I did.

First wedding for DH and me. A very small affair with only close family.

We wore the same wedding dress / suit for a massive party 3 weeks later.
