To ask whether you’d wear your wedding dress to the party?

If you were going away to get married, just you and partner (second wedding, both have children from previous relationships), and having a “reception” afterwards when returned, would you wear the dress again? Or would that look really odd?

@CathyTre I've just realised I totally misunderstood Blush I thought you were asking about re-wearing the dress from your first marriage! Absolutely I would wear the same dress for the ceremony and the party!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 12/02/2019 15:37

I got married away in November. Our reception is a week Saturday and I'm wearing my dress again. Last chance I'll get and I love it. Plus people want to see it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Redglitter · 12/02/2019 15:38

Id be very surprised if I went to a delayed reception & the B&G weren't wearing their wedding outfits

Definitely wear it - its gorgeous

CathyTre · 12/02/2019 15:40

Ah, thanks all! I feel a bit more confident about doing it now, maybe for a couple of hours then change? Hope all of you who’ve done this enjoyed it :)

I'm keeping mine on all night. Unless I go clubbing after then I may change it 😂

RelaisBlu · 12/02/2019 15:42

Beautiful dress - wear it!!

Redglitter · 12/02/2019 15:42

Sod changing wear it til you fall into your bed at the end of the night.

Youll never be able to wear it again in public why on earth would you want to change Smile

diddl · 12/02/2019 15:44

Can't see the picsSad

MyKingdomForACaramel · 12/02/2019 15:44

Yep - have been to loads of these wedding parties and it’s completely normal

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/02/2019 15:46

Of course, it’s the party back home to celebrate your wedding. It will be expected! Anything else will seem too much like an ordinary party.

SureTry · 12/02/2019 15:47

Of course you should wear it. Everyone will want to see you in your dress, it's effectively your wedding reception, just delayed slightly. Your dress is lovely by the way.

RomanyQueen1 · 12/02/2019 15:49

yes, definitely. I know lots of brides who didn't get changed for the reception as wanted everyone to see the dress and also to make the most of wearing it.

Lweji · 12/02/2019 15:50

Remember to take your bouquet with you too. Grin

And don't stain it.

Greyhound22 · 12/02/2019 15:50

Oh definitely- it's lovely and people will want to see it

QforCucumber · 12/02/2019 15:53

We get Married next week away, alone, and have a reception at home the week after! DAMN right I'm wearing my dress again, it makes me feel amazing!

KC225 · 12/02/2019 15:54

Do wear it OP. People will WANT to see it. I for one would be disappointed if I turned up to a wedding celebration party and you were not wearing it. It's Beautiful dress, enjoy it.

Good luck OP.

SaucyJack · 12/02/2019 15:57

Definitely wear it! Totes appropes.

Lovely dress btw.

purplecorkheart · 12/02/2019 15:58

Beautiful dress and I would wear it in a heartbeat

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 12/02/2019 16:01

Absolutely wear it to the party - and keep it on all night. You look lovely in it.

I do know someone who cancelled a wedding and wore the dress from then to her subsequent wedding to a different man. Her reasoning was that it was the dress she loved most. Very economical and environmentally sound but I think I’d have kept it quiet.

oh4forkssake · 12/02/2019 16:04

Ooh don't you look lovely. That dress is cut beautifully for you.

Deffo wear it.

FadedRed · 12/02/2019 16:06

I’d be really disappointed if you didn’t wear it, if I were a guest.
(I’ve also worn mine to our silver and ruby anniversary parties, just for an hour or so, so not your last opportunity to wear it, if you are as daft as I am)

XiCi · 12/02/2019 16:12

Of course you should wear it. I've been to loads of wedding parties at home after a wedding abroad and all have worn their dresses. I'd think it odd if you didn't!

Margot33 · 12/02/2019 16:15

Yes if course. Everyone will be expecting to see you in it. Your dress looks fabulous.

NKFell · 12/02/2019 16:19

Yes you absolutely should! It's your wedding party and it's gorgeous!

CalmDownPacino · 12/02/2019 16:20

Yes definitely wear it! The party is to celebrate your wedding/marriage so of course you should wear it!

It is beautiful. You look fab in it. Enviable figure!
