to think this is not what you do in a spa?

Having a much needed relaxing afternoon in a spa, doing what one does - sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, lazy lengths in the (smallish) pool (don't judge me, I was desperate).

This guy comes striding out of the men's changing room, goggles on, throws himself into the pool with an almighty splash, and furiously front crawls straight at me without looking. Startled and somewhat intimidated, I get out and find a lounger, while he continues to circle the pool in a savage, noisy and overly splashy manner for a good twenty minutes.

AIBU to think you don't monopolise a quiet spa environment, and certainly not like a bull in a china shop?

Surely large splashy swimming is causing greater turbulence and drag so your swimming less efficently than what you might otherwise be?.

YANBU those tiny pools aren't big enough for people to swim fast lengths. Even if they were he should have looked where he was going and not disturbed the other swimmers.

OP I totally get where you are coming from as I would me annoyed too but he was entitled to swim. However this is the problem with small pools, they feel over crowded quickly. I think there is a total lack of swimming etiquette . Women only swimming is the worst, bloody 3 abreast chatting! I have the rage tonight because after swimming I went to the steam room as usual and someone (always a man) decided to pour olbas oil onto the steam thingy. My eyes, scalp and neck are still burning.

If I was at a spa not just a public pool I would ask for a refund.
