What makes you laugh out loud-Netflix?

I’m just coming out of a really low point in my life and I found really immersing myself in as much laugh out loud (to me) stuff I could find on Netflix really helped!

So far I’ve discovered White Gold and Boarderline and some stand up though I think I must have a niche sense of humor as a lot of the things perceived as being funny left me cold.

Wondering what makes you actually laugh out loud, or even give a little snigger?

Friday Night Dinner
Jack Whitehill and his dad travelling
Sex Education has some belly laugh moments

The good place is brilliant. Nailed it is also quite funny, in a really American way.

Lllot5 · 09/02/2019 20:40

James Acaster has 4 stand up shows one after the other Repertoire I think it’s called. Genius so so clever brilliantly funny.

Brooklyn 99 is fantastic, as is Santa Clarita Diet. We also really like The Good Place and Friday Night Dinner. There are also the first 7 series of GBBO on there and we like to watch that for some feel good tv.

DopeyDazy · 09/02/2019 20:43

is we're the millers on there, got it on a media player but always find it funny

pisspawpatrol · 09/02/2019 20:43

The Letdown is also great, I'm hoping for a second series.

FlamboyantPotato · 09/02/2019 20:51

B99, The Good Place and Parks and Rec are all Michael Schur - he's basically the god of feel-good, intelligent comedy

If you like musical comedy Garfunkel abd Oates are amazing, there's a series and special. If you don't like whimsy or ukuleles it's probably not for you though!

amusedbush · 09/02/2019 21:39

Big Mouth
Any of Jim Gaffigan’s stand up specials

TheEntertainerr · 09/02/2019 21:50

GLOW
Ricky Gervais Humanity. DF was watching it on a flight and was in fits. Other passengers wanted to know what he was watching - he was rocking that row of seats!

Flippidyflap · 09/02/2019 22:01

I really liked Yummy Mummies - I binge watched it over 2 days and laughed out loud many times.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 09/02/2019 22:02

It's always sunny is by far the funniest show on Netflix, I have watched it through about 5 times and still cry with laughter at most episodes

Wishiwasincornwall · 09/02/2019 22:07

Archer
Friday Night Dinner
Upstart Crow

SeaWitchly · 09/02/2019 23:15

amyb20 · 09/02/2019 23:48

If your getting amazon prime new girl and life in pieces along with parks and recreation

XiCi · 09/02/2019 23:51

Absolutely love Grace and Frankie. So funny.

I'll probably get flamed for unpopular choices but stand up does it for me more than sitcoms or films.

Artists I like (this is where I get flamed)

Michael McIntyre (as an aside I appear to have lost my search function and he's not in my list any more so looks like not on Netflix. Can anyone help with the search issue?)
Greg Davies
John bishop
Eddie Murphy
Chris Rock
Tim Allen
Joan rivers
Russell brand (awaits cries of "burn her" but I do find him funny)

Netflix need to put more female stand up on there.

But if we must go films/sitcoms

Friends (tv unit, pivot & up all night guaranteed to have me laughing no matter I've seen them hundreds)
The good place I do like but it's less "lol" than "wee chuckle to oneself"
Still game - but then I'm a Scot and don't know if it transfers well.

Pitch perfect
What to expect when you're expecting
4 weddings
Hitmans bodyguard
Some like it hot
RIPD
The family
Monster in law
We're the millers (agree with pp if you haven't seen it watch it while it's available it's fab!)
The hangover

amprev · 10/02/2019 00:42

Kimmy Schmitt for sure

OlennasWimple · 10/02/2019 00:52

Friends From College - they are all hideous people, but it's very, very funny

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 10/02/2019 10:57

It’s always sunny in Philadelphia - they are awful characters it’s very funny

RuggyPeg · 12/02/2019 11:24

Bits of Greg Davies stand up made me roar laughing.

Asian Provocateur made my cheeks ache. Every episode was better than the last. Mumsnet even gets an honoury (sp) mention!

Fazackerley · 12/02/2019 11:25

The good place
Parks and rec
