I know I know mind my own business, but really? I really don't understand the need to give babies chocolate?
So far the baby has eaten, two selection boxes over Christmas.
A tunnock caramel wafer and chocolate bourbons.
I looked after the little girl earlier and the mum handed me golden walker crisps to give to her 🙈 safe to safe I did not..
Not really an aibu I suppose, if you allow your baby these foods, then why??

I was at baby clinic with ds 3 months at the time. A mum with a baby the same age turned to me and said ‘my little one choked on the weekend?’ I wasn’t too concerned, as some baby’s do drink a little too fast. So
said ‘he chocked on his milk, poor babe, I’m sure he’ll be okay!’

Her reply? ‘Oh no, not milk, a chip, I gave him a few of mine I had from the chip shop, he ate two fine, but choked on the third one, I think he’d had too many!’ I was like wtfShock

I'd judge too, a baby ( or child) doesn't know about excessive sugar and salt unless it's given to them.
My abusive ex did this with my ds - I would put a drop of juice in a cup of water and he would top it up to make it stronger because " he can't taste it". You can't more like.
Gave him chocolate before he was a year old, same with wotsit's. it took me ages to get him back to healthy eating.

Like I said, if you don't give it to them in the first place they won't know any different.

I'm surprised this thread is still up!

I can barely chew through a tunnocks wafer and I’m 40.....sounds a little implausible that a 6 month old could.....

I want one now due to this thread

Mine had chocolate buttons at around 10 months, no sooner. And mostly the only "sweeties" they had were yogurt covered raisins. Dd1 is allergic to some sweets so we were nervous letting her try new ones

No way.

My kids don’t get crap until they’re old enough to ask for it.

My 2 year old is happy with fruit and water as treats still....though she sees her brothers with crispsa and now asks for them

Why would you give a baby junk? Why not enjoy a few junk free years?
