I know I know mind my own business, but really? I really don't understand the need to give babies chocolate?
So far the baby has eaten, two selection boxes over Christmas.
A tunnock caramel wafer and chocolate bourbons.
I looked after the little girl earlier and the mum handed me golden walker crisps to give to her 🙈 safe to safe I did not..
Not really an aibu I suppose, if you allow your baby these foods, then why??

I would absolutely judge

Birdsgottafly · 07/02/2019 17:01

"Nearly as good as the babies with the foot long sausage rolls from Greggs for their breakfast I see on my way to work..."

How does it vary from, Sausage on Toast? It wouldn't be my choice, but at least it's food, rather than junk.

LeAmEl19 · 07/02/2019 17:01

I have said it's a bit much chocolate and she shrugged and said she didn't care, it makes a mess but her dd loves itHmm
Most of it is being smeared on the little girls face but she's got a good hand to mouth co ordination

A 6 month baby can eat [the contents of] a selection box??? My 6 months old could barely eat a bit of mush

pantyclaws · 07/02/2019 17:49

I wouldn't even get a selection box for my 6 YEAR old because he'd eat it all in one go I'm not precious about the odd cake, crisp or chocolate but at that age - no.

peachgreen · 07/02/2019 17:53

There is no way a 4/5 month old baby ate two selection boxes. Hmm

ChariotsofFish · 07/02/2019 17:53

A six month old is not capable of eating a selection box.

MarshaBradyo · 07/02/2019 17:55

Yuck no yanbu

Confusedbeetle · 07/02/2019 17:57

Yes I would judge big time. If it was a family member I would also say something, Ridiculous

Schmoobarb · 07/02/2019 17:59

I’ll hoik up my judgy pants as well, that’s an absolute disgrace to feed that to a 6 month old.

It's like a check-list of how to create the most frothing. Sugar, biscuits, crisps.

I doubt the baby is eating much, if any, of it. A few buttons and chocolate smeared around with a photo for effect? Sure. All of that? Doubt it.

Waiting to see how soon it is before someone suggests telling the Health Visitor/Social Services/111.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 07/02/2019 18:01

Er tunnock wafer? How 😒

ApolloandDaphne · 07/02/2019 18:04

I want to know how the baby managed the curlywurly and the crunchie? Or was it in reality a few tiny bags of white chocolate buttons?

WellBHouse · 07/02/2019 18:04

I’d judge.
Especially the cunty grandparents who give 6week old babies fucking white chocolate buttons.

JazzyBBG · 07/02/2019 18:08

@Birdsgottafly have you seen the salt content of Greggs and a FOOT long?!

Chinks123 · 07/02/2019 18:12

I was watching my friends 6mo dd and she’d packed a lunch for me to give to her. A packet of super noodles, and some chopped up fried bacon in a Tupperware box. I gave her neither and bit my tongue, but she told me weeks later that the HV had told her bacon was inappropriate due to the salt content.

I would judge ref. I’m finding it hard to believe that a baby of that age could actually eat all that though, do you mean it sucked the chocolate and squashed it in its hands?

Bringbackthestripes · 07/02/2019 18:14

It wouldn't be my choice, but at least it's food, rather than junk.

How is a sausage roll not junk?

Habadabadoo · 07/02/2019 18:16

That's terrible! Why do parents give babies chocolate?
Actually this gives me a great place to rant. In the supermarket earlier I overheard someone talking about their baby (maybe 10months old?). Mum told the friend they have realised the baby can't have chocolate before bed as baby then doesn't sleep! I was full of judgement as I walked away. How stupid are people?

Lana1234 · 07/02/2019 18:16

So the baby was 4 months ish at Christmas when it ate 2 selection boxes?

GreenThing · 07/02/2019 18:23

A 6 month old ate a Tunnocks caramel bar?!

Right-o. Grin

EwItsAHooman · 07/02/2019 18:26

And Golden Wonder crisps. Don't forget the Golden Wonder crisps.

theycallmebabydriver · 07/02/2019 18:27

4 month old eating 2 selection boxes? Chinny reckon, Jimmy Hill

poglets · 07/02/2019 18:29

Golden Wonder are the best! And hard to find!

TulipsTulipsTulips · 07/02/2019 18:29

Totally judge. I thought it was harmful to give salty and sugary foods under the age of two.
