I can never seem to say anaesthetise.

My friend can’t say kettle properly and my brother has trouble with vinegar!

specificity

ShagMeRiggins · 01/02/2019 17:05

Oh, and it is definitely not ‘nucular’—you are right to pronounce it nu-clee-ar @WinterBluez!

Elfinablender · 01/02/2019 17:06

I can say it but not without my face bunching up like a rabbit.

Flutternotsoshy · 01/02/2019 17:06

An anomaly. Can say an. Can say anomaly. Can't run them altogether. Start stuttering like a lunatic.

That's so outing for anyone who knows me lol

Yulebealrite · 01/02/2019 17:07

SpoonBlender · 01/02/2019 17:07

Renster · 01/02/2019 17:07

I used to have a pathological hatred of the word ‘pants’.
Not that I wasn’t capable of saying it -I was-but couldn’t bring myself to, due to an incident when I was 10 involving my mother, my school and a brown paper bag. 🤨

Renster · 01/02/2019 17:09

Oh, and ‘werewolf’ used to come out as ‘woolworth’

VictoriaBun · 01/02/2019 17:09

Cunt. I never say it. Even if I'm reading the word, I'll only say C in my head.

Meangirls36 · 01/02/2019 17:09

If I concentrate I have amazing diction if I'm tired I stammer and have a lisp.

MyfanwyMontez · 01/02/2019 17:10

I can’t say thief. I just sounds wrong when I say I it.

GimmeBread · 01/02/2019 17:12

"No I do not want any more wine".

No matter how I try I just can't say them! Grin

Ilove · 01/02/2019 17:13

Preliminary (can’t even write how I say it!)
Penalty (pelanty)

Petalflowers · 01/02/2019 17:14

Iron

Tiger (comes out as Tay-ger)

Salt

Rise

Architecture

Quite a few for me, and i’m Sure there’s more.

mywigwamneedsnewflaps · 01/02/2019 17:14

For a long time I couldn't say
" Abdomen "
But I've practiced lots and it's easy now

feltcarrot · 01/02/2019 17:14

I struggle with antibiotic, I have to really think or it will come out as anti-bee-otic.

IHeartKingThistle · 01/02/2019 17:15

Yeah statistics for me too. And words with loads of Rs and Ws.

Petalflowers · 01/02/2019 17:15

Shag - did you see the Graham Norton interview regardimg this!

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 01/02/2019 17:16

Finite. Because Infinity.

00Sassy · 01/02/2019 17:16

Allure and almond...just cannot pronounce those words!

Elephantina · 01/02/2019 17:18

Bureaucracy. Comes out really weird and the harder I try, the worse it sounds. "Brure...bru...bwur-wrock-rus...politics."

I knew someone years ago who could not say the word "collar". No matter how much she repeated it it came out as colour, she said she simply could not form the word. We worked in a menswear department so things got confused often.

drspouse · 01/02/2019 17:20

I occasionally say "my-graine" and "vie-tamins" rather than the UK pronunciation. I annoy myself.

Dinnaehinksae · 01/02/2019 17:23

@HirplesWithHaggis me too, always sounds like Carol even in my head Grin

letsgomaths · 01/02/2019 17:24

Probability - all those b's. It's a bit of a problem teaching maths.
