Not an AIBU but figured more trafficWink

I would...
Buy a gorgeous house on the spot for my partner and I (And our pup).
Furnish it with the most luxurious and comfortable things.
Book in on an emergency spa day (massage, facial, brows, nails- the works!)
Buy my dream car & one for my partner.
Book a holiday for this summer in the Maldives THEN an American road trip.
Finish it off in a gorgeous restaurant for a date night.

Sounds like I'd be busy tomorrow...Wink

But seriously, my boyfriend and I are currently flat/house hunting for a larger place and all the ones in our budget are shitholes or don't allow dogs.
It's nice to fantasise about being able to afford the perfect home.Blush

I already have a beautiful home my husband and I have worked very hard for. I would stay home and be grateful that I had money to leave to my children and future grandchildren.

MrsTerryPratcett · 28/01/2019 23:29

I would find the lost amazing, fantastic tutor for DD, who wanted to travel the world, and we would set off to look at all the most interesting places in the world.

Starting with Easter Island, Antarctica and Bhutan (all too expensive now!).

shpoot · 28/01/2019 23:29

Don't you have any family or friends or people you love? Seriously, I'd let them know they were comfortable before I went to the car showroom

VioletPickles · 28/01/2019 23:32

Pay off my debts, and those of my closet family and friends. The buy a bigger house, book our wedding abroad and have a fabulous holiday. And gift my family. Oh I wish!

PippilottaLongstocking · 28/01/2019 23:32

Buy a middle-sized house with a big garden and a few fields for my family, buy better houses for my mum and siblings, buy my niece a pony, buy my partner a new car, donate a load to local charities and charities that actually use the money for what it’s intended for, fill the houses with good quality furniture, re-do my entire wardrobe (and everyone in my family’s) with beautiful, good quality, mostly handmade clothes

MrsMcGarry · 28/01/2019 23:34

I have access to significant funds - more than I will ever need.

I’m going to be spending tomorrow in the same way I’ve spent much of the last few months - campaigning to get rid of Tories and Stop Brexit

JaiNotJay · 28/01/2019 23:36

I'd go to a bookshop and buy as many books as I could carry. Then me and my books would go off to a lovely hotel where I would order afternoon tea and curl up in front of a log fire, reading. I might stop reading occasionally to book a holiday or two...

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 28/01/2019 23:38

Exactly how I'm actually going to spend the day except maybe I'd be leaving from a much larger house with a live in cleaner!

Harrykanesrightsock · 28/01/2019 23:42

Shpoot Confused really!!

I would book a holiday to look at a holiday home —obviously for friends and family to enjoy too shpoot—

Take Dds on a shopping spree.

Book a personnel trainer.

Book a swanky lunch before PT said I can’t.

And then I would give a good chunk to the charity I work for before handing in my notice.

whendidimakethisbottle · 28/01/2019 23:43

Private jet to Disney World with the kids. Would be all over Zoopla on the way there sorting that shit by price high to low

MonsterTequila · 28/01/2019 23:49

@shpoot
Some people don’t. Some people aren’t lucky enough to have living loving family. Perhaps save the judgement until you know someone’s personal situation (or just save the judgement.)

Sorka · 28/01/2019 23:53
  1. Resign immediately
  2. Do a happy dance
  3. Fly to the Caribbean that day for a holiday and stay in the nicest hotel I can find. Bring Mum and sister. Mum can retire.
  4. Book viewings to see fabulous houses with so much land I can’t hear my neighbours at all. I want to spend time browsing all the houses I can’t currently afford on Rightmove.
  5. There will be champagne and fabulous food.
  6. Not a car person, but mines getting to the point it needs replacing so will buy a new one. Don’t care about browsing cars. May pay someone to do this for me.
Girlicorne · 28/01/2019 23:53

I d still go to work as I don't like to let people down :-)

OftenHangry · 28/01/2019 23:53

Repaid mortgage, binge shop online for couple of hours incl car for DH, transfered x mil to my mums account.
That's about 5 hours of work.
And then I would.

SLEEP for like 24 hours.

MonsterTequila · 28/01/2019 23:53

I would buy a big lovely house & a beach house abroad. Would book a lot of Holidays. Would pre pay all years needed for my child’s Therapy. Buy the house next to mine for when they’re older. Give a shit load to charities and researchers. Buy a lovely new car. Eat loads of food followed by Lipo 😂

lovespaniels · 28/01/2019 23:58

@Aquamarine1029 That's nice :) I hope we get there one day.

@shpoot of course I'd help them out! This thread was more on the lighthearted front though- if you want more info, I'd also pay off my credit card and a loan I have ;)

I think I'd still go to work too. I'd feel far too guilty about leaving my exam classes with no teacher if I left at short notice, so I'd probably stay till the summer Hmm

I would, however, buy a slightly bigger house. Pay someone to decorate and furnish it. Then pay someone to clear and sell our current house. Ooh and I'd hire a housekeeper/cleaner/cook so I wouldn't have to worry about the mundane aspects of life. And a new car, a hybrid one.

I'd probably buy my brother and sister houses of their own too, so I know they and their children will always have somewhere to live no matter what happens to rents in their areas.

lovespaniels · 29/01/2019 00:01

@WhiteOrange Sounds perfect!

wishywashy6 · 29/01/2019 00:02
