What comment have you read, maybe a long time ago, that you still remember?
I still remember one MNer insisting a 4 year old should be able to walk a mile in 12 minutes. Mine are obviously slackers.

I think the snapped and farted thread was one where you had to be following it as it happened to be funny, a "you had to be there" kind of thing. Like the pombears or cutted up pear, I never saw what all he fuss was about.

Frouby · 27/01/2019 18:34

Thank you very much Stardust and littlemiss.

Am going to make a cuppa and sob a bit. It's a really beautiful but sad thread, I read it when I was TTC (and had been for some time and it wasn't going well). I was heartbroken and furious all at once.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 27/01/2019 18:38

KindleAndCake

I knew it was someone like that! Still funny 😂

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 27/01/2019 18:38

Something*!

MissFitton · 27/01/2019 18:44

"And people saying Tiny Wankers sounded like a toddler group. "Musical Wee Shites with Leanne at 10" etc" This has made me howl with laughter - I love how brilliantly funny MNers are.

A memorable line was something like "are you sure there's no way you could be pregnant" on the thread where the OP ended up in hospital with an ectopic pregnancy after complaining about being in pain on here.

couchparsnip · 27/01/2019 18:52

The post about the one time you will put your child down and never pick them up again! When I read that I went and picked up 13 yr old DS, who is almost 6 foot tall. Almost did my back in but worth it!

shartsi · 27/01/2019 19:03

The Maui thread was funny

Frouby · 27/01/2019 19:22

Fuck sake, knew I shouldn't have read it again.

Now I need to read something lighthearted.

Greenteandchives · 27/01/2019 19:30

‘Reader, I posed my baby’.
This was on a story about a woman who had taken her baby for an X-ray. She was asked to put a hand on the baby’s stomach and one on his head. Meaning her own hands, to keep him still. Instead she placed her baby’s hands as described.
Still makes me smile.

FruitCider · 27/01/2019 20:07

EMINs thread has really inspired me as a substance misuse nurse. Many of my patients worry about their baby going into foster care, EMINs thread helped me explain the process to them.

May she rest in peace. If there's ever a woman that deserves a posthumous award, it's her ❤️

FrankieHeckisinTheMiddle · 27/01/2019 20:11

I read the snapped and farted thread in real time and didn’t find it remotely funny. The posters falling over themselves to say how hysterical they were was just so childish and stupid.

Sparklingbrook · 27/01/2019 20:14

Oh Frankie I was hoping somehow reading it 'live' would have meant it was funny because the 'dead' thread certainly isn't.

FrankieHeckisinTheMiddle · 27/01/2019 20:38

Hi Sparkling 😀I remember reading the op and thinking in a bemused way ‘what does she mean by snapped and farted’ but didn’t think it was especially funny, just a bit weird, cue about 300 posters saying “OMG OP I’m dying of laughter!!!!” etc and then it became a ridiculous competition to say how convulsed you were. I thought it was a load of shite 😂

Fiddie · 27/01/2019 20:51

I don't think anyone has ever spat tea on their keyboard or pissed their pants from reading something on here.

Sparklingbrook · 27/01/2019 20:52

I was really annoyed to read the whole thing and still not know what 'snapped and farted' is or was. Angry

DustyMcDustbuster · 27/01/2019 20:56

@Greenteaandchives hahahaha! I can imagine me doing that! Grin

FabulouslyFab · 27/01/2019 20:57

Snapped and farted certainly made me laugh out loud at the time! Just the thought of farting in annoyance..... oh dear GrinGrinGrin
(I wish there was a laughing emoji that didn’t look like it’s lips are zipped together!!!)

ScrambledSmegs · 27/01/2019 20:58

Yes, I read the 'snapped and farted' thread when it was still very new. Didn't find it funny. Assumed I had the wrong sense of humour and left them to it.

kw1091 · 27/01/2019 21:18

This thread has made my day. For what it’s worth snapped and farted still really makes me laugh!

FrankiesKnuckle · 27/01/2019 21:18

I read that someone was 'a cunt for the butter' once (can't even remember the context) but it still makes me chuckle now, especially when I butter some toast 😁

cushioncovers · 27/01/2019 21:25

The mum who meant to say to her toddler son in the gp surgery that he was 'a whiney tinker' but accidentally said 'you're a teeny wanker'

cushioncovers · 27/01/2019 21:33

Yes, the Colonel Gaddafi one!!

GrinGrin

popehilarious · 27/01/2019 21:36

The 'take a break' mag parody stories. So well written! I usually find 'comedy' threads a bit tedious but these were so funny.

cushioncovers · 27/01/2019 21:38

Just reading this and saw that others have remembered the tiny wanker thread. it was years ago and I still chuckle about it whenever I'm at the doctors. Grin

cushioncovers · 27/01/2019 21:44

I also remember the post about someone's husband who refused to dry himself with a towel after showering and preferred to dry using a hair dryer as that's how his father had always done it.
