To not be able to think of a name for my house?

We live in a 1930's 4 bed semi, on the outskirts of a village but quite a busy main road, there are no amazing plants or trees or anything I can name it after 🤔

I want to name it just because all the houses I've lived in have had names!! Obviously not a grandiose name as it is a pretty standard house 😳

I never understood why anyone would bother with naming a standard house - smacks of pretension to me - but if you must, you really can't do better than Keith.

dingledangles · 26/01/2019 21:20

What about foxes earth? There is a lot of grassy/countryside nearby. Plus there's foxes everywhere now anyway 😂

Agree with it being incredibly naff.

Call it sherlock if you want to be wacky and fun though.

babycakes1010 · 26/01/2019 21:21

dingledangles · 26/01/2019 21:21

Pretensions if I was calling it trenwith or something with manor in the title

Housey McHouse Face.

Scottish islands are a good source of names. I once viewed a house called St Kilda. I that was a lovely name.

i used to live in a house with a name it did have a number but more often than not computer systems wouldn't recognise the number, and because i'm painfully common i just couldn't bring myself to say 'Sawmills house'. we moved after a year and i was so happy to be back to 'no 8 normal street'!

3out · 26/01/2019 21:59

Brizzle 😂
