Just waiting for an takeaway as the kids are sick and I started thinking about tipping in the uk.

Who do you tip and who do you not? I tend to tip in restaurants with table service, my hairdresser and brow lady, we also hung tradesman a tenner as well for a pint when they've done good work.

I don't tend to tip delivery drivers for takeaways (we order on just eat and they charge for delivery)

How about you?

I do tip Deliveroo and Just Eat delivery drivers.

I feel bad about using the gig economy because of the lack of workers’ rights, so tipping is my way of squaring it with myself...

I also tip taxi drivers and in restaurants (though not cafés).

I’ve never tipped a hairdresser in my life though! And I’ve never heard of/seen anyone doing it except on mumsnet.

I tip in restaurants if I think the service was very good never tip anywhere else really

It's totally random as sometimes I want to tip but don't have the change.
Other times I've got plenty of change and end up probably giving too much.

I don't tend to at hairdressers as I ask for a simple cut that only takes half an hour and still get charged a full £40 minimum.

I don't tip anyone and I've worked in hospitality.

I'd never tip my hairdresser. She's self employed and her prices are high as has a huge amount of clients. She earns more than I do!

Cabs
Restaurants
Hairdresser
Nails
Takeaway delivery drivers
Think that's it.

I don't tip. It's not the custom in Australia. Wages are high enough here that there is no need to.
