Just this. Shivers, tight chest, muscle pains. Coughing.

What did the OOH GP say?
Maybe you're coming down with a chest infection on top of virus/flu? Sounds awful, hope you feel better really soon. Does your Trust have the 3 strike policy for sickness? Ours does, if you have more than 3 absences in 6 months (any length) you have a meeting with your line manager. Mostly it's brushed off as lots of people have 3+ absences, they just monitor it over next 6 months. It's at line managers discretion whether to take it further (most don't). I've been off with Norovirus then a chest infection shortly after, nobody batted an eyelid (occupational hazard of working on a ward!) Please don't force yourself into work ill, you'll only feel worse and infect your team/patients 🌺

OOH said it's a flu-like virus, lasts about 5 days.
Feeling a bit better now - shivers have stopped and I've been able to get showered and done some washing. 💐 for everyone xxx

My trust uses the Bradford index scale for sickness - IMO its an algorithm invented to scare people into keeping their score low

My son is in hospital with flu and complications from brittle asthma. I didn't know but they can actually do a test for flu! It's just a swab taken from the back of the throat and the results take 10 minutes! Very happy with the care we've received this time, although he was very poorly when we came in so he got seen to straight away.

Sympathies to all those that are poorly too right now! It's completely shit! Grin
