Just this. Shivers, tight chest, muscle pains. Coughing.

Up here too
Nose stuffed as anything so I can't breathe. My back so sore and DC will be up in 3 hours

gingerlemon · 26/01/2019 02:18

Me too for 3 days, which turned into a migraine and I couldn't get up yesterday. Now lying awake trying not to cough - it hurts :(

LadyandGent · 26/01/2019 02:23

How's your temp?
I hate to be that one poster who mentions it, but you have some symptoms of sepsis.

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 26/01/2019 06:47

Awake. Had some sleep, now craving a hot bath again

RedWineIsFabulous · 26/01/2019 06:49

Sore throat here.

Ds and DH as well

Beautiful.

Hope you feel better Flowers

Teacherlikemisstrunchball · 26/01/2019 06:51

I’ve been ill for a week. Not sleeping well at all but battling through work each day. Now DS has it, so came in to my bed at 1am coughing and coughing and COUGHING. We both finally went back to sleep but then he woke up again at 5.50am coughing again. We’re now watching andy’s dinosaur adventures on the iPad in bed. My only plan for today is to go to Sainsbury’s to get more lemsip and children noodle soup for lunch and then back to bed!

Sparklfairy · 26/01/2019 06:52

Me. Just cannot get warm but within 5 mins with the heat from I feel sick. D&v. Most awful thing I've ever experienced. And my ribcage is shot to pieces and I can't stand up for more than a couple of minutes. It's awful being ill!

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 26/01/2019 07:01

It's the shivering for me. Why do I constantly want to be laying in a hot bath????

Elllicam · 26/01/2019 07:07

I am also sick, mastitis and a weird headachey, vomity thing. Have 4 kids under 6 solo today, including my 7 week old. There’ll be a lot of tv time.

OneStepSideways · 26/01/2019 08:13

Ghastly isn't it. I had it last week, thought it was flu but the main symptoms only lasted 24 hours (fever, body aches, shaking, cough) then I was up and about, fine apart from the cough and aching finger joints.

Hope you recover quickly. Stay in bed, drink lots and wait for it to pass 🌺

Teagoanngoanngoann · 26/01/2019 08:50

Ooo theres so much going about at the moment. Flowers all round for everyone. Been up since 5am ill and then got a call at 7am to pick up idiot son as someone has broken his jaw. Grrrrr

Darkautumn · 26/01/2019 08:51

Am currently surviving on Day and Night Nurse!

londonrach · 26/01/2019 08:52

londonrach · 26/01/2019 08:54

@Onestep ...aching finger joints...i thought id hurt my fingers as well as that bug. So glad it was just the bug. It was a nasty one

juneau · 26/01/2019 08:54

Sounds like flu OP. Have you had the vaccine?

RedCabbageStains · 26/01/2019 08:55

Dd had that feverish cold / mild flu thing - been off school all week (first time in years) but seems better today - coughing but no temp or sore throat or headache.

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 26/01/2019 09:02

Yes. Work for NHS so it's kind of pushed.
Ibuprofen seems to help a lot - got up for a bath at 7, tidied up and attempting breakfast. Absolutely terrible night 😞

OneStepSideways · 27/01/2019 08:14

I wonder if it's real flu but the flu jab has lessened the severity/duration? I had the jab at work too.

Had cold sweats alternating with shivers all night (poor DH was used as a hot water bottle each time I woke up then ended up soaked!)

I'm going to get some ibruprofen, the muscle/joint pain is back Sad

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 27/01/2019 08:40

Took myself to the out of hours gp yesterday - I'm soooooooo unwell now
Feels like real flu
Hurts to talk, hurts to cough, etc etc etc

OP posts:
juneau · 27/01/2019 11:15

What did the OOH GP say? It really does sound like flu. There are different strains about, so even if you have the vaccine you aren't necessarily covered. My dad had the vaccine last winter and came down with another strain over the summer, so it can happen.

Whatdoiwanttohear · 27/01/2019 11:20

Poor everyone, so horrid isn't it being ill. I'm on day 6 in bed with shingles, dear God...

Santaclarita · 27/01/2019 11:20

Yup. Not as bad thank god, I've only got the beginnings of cold symptoms but I have ran out of pills. Sad Still got my large supply of strepsils though so will get more nurofen when I go out later.

Santaclarita · 27/01/2019 11:23

Sadly the flu vaccine doesn't work on all flu strains, just the ones in it. Sounds like you've caught one that isn't in it. Sad That sucks. Hope you feel better soon.

Myotherhusbandisgaryoldman · 27/01/2019 11:47

Trouble is, I was off work for a week recently with a horrendous stomach bug. Can't have any more sick time
