KATSU CURRY - this is pretty much the sauce I made but I also added a couple of teaspoons of tumeric:

allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/29578/chicken-katsu-curry.aspx

I didn't have any panko breadcrumbs so just put some stale sourdough in the Nutribullet and used those breadcrumbs instead. as the DC said it is ALL about the sauce.

TheClitterati · 25/01/2019 10:50

I did blend it up a bit with a stick blender as DC like it smooth rather than lumpy.

Thank you for the suggestions, some really good ideas there. Unfortunately my cooker just broke so both ovens/grill is out of action and down to 1 small hob and 1 large hob.

OopsUpsideYourBed. What’s your Persian lentil stew recipe?

fatpatsthong · 27/01/2019 12:59

I was just about to post that I got myself a copy of the green roasting tin in an effort to try some different stuff. All stuff to mix and then shove in the oven. Appreciate no good given the oven thing though!

Everything I've cooked from there has been lush and so low effort. Portions v v generous too and pretty healthy

Watching with interest as I could have written your exact list OP!

Just made a cheating easy moussaka
Fried chopped onions til soft, then added fried lamb mince, mix together with a tin of lentils and a tin of crushed tomatoes, add seasoning, paprika, oregano, squeezy garlic and simmer. Add in any random leftover chopped veg.

Meanwhile boil about 6 medium potatoes til tender and then drain to cool.

Meanwhile slice an aubergine, brush slices with olive oil, place on baking tray and blast under grill 3 mins each side.

Grease a brownie tin or any ovenproof dish and layer sliced potatoes on base, then later aubergines, then a layer of the lamb/lentils tomato sauce.

Repeat until you have a top final layer of lamb, then spread creme fraiche on top and sprinkle with grated cheddar and feta if you have it, or any grated other cheese you have around.

Bake til bubbling and cheese is golden - about 15 mins.

I asked my DD (4yo) what her favourite dinner was the other day, she said 'brinner' (basically a cooked breakfast - veggie sausage, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, toast). Ah well, makes my life easier that she doesn't want anything too fancy Blush

Homemade peeing duck! Duck legs on a roasting rack. Stab them with a knife. Season with Chinese five spice, salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for 1.5 hours. Shred then serve with hoisin, pancakes, sliced spring onions and cucumber. So delicious!
