DP family have an agreement to give
Let’s say 2 camels each

So DP buys all family all the time even DB wife Always got 2 camels!

I’ve been with DP 12 months had one Christmas with DP
Never thoughtful it’s was a candle whereas I put thought into what we brought DP brother and wife!!

DP just won’t say anything but will reduce amounts if at my birthday is only 1 camel and will make it seem everyone skint so shall they all reduce to 1 camel! I moaned at my DSIS about not getting DP a present but DBIL was suspended!

I find this really upsetting and a insult to DP relationship with me!

AIBU and drama queen?

Or should DP grow some balls!

I would be happy with one camel, not sure I could fit 2 in my garden. One camel is better than no camel?

Housingcraze · 24/01/2019 13:14

I think camels require more than a garden these days!

I need to obviously sell the camels 🐪

@paxillin wow I never said anyone was thick? And used camels to make it lighthearted, knowing I was possibly unreasonable

carrotflinger · 24/01/2019 13:18

Ok dyslexia aside.... why on earth did you start writing about camels??
Thoroughly bizarre.

Are you trying to say other people's gifts were more expensive than yours so it isn't fair??

hickerydickerydockmouse · 24/01/2019 13:19

you lot got a herd of camels. You will make fortune in an Arab country so YABU.

gudrunandtheseeress · 24/01/2019 13:21

A couple of vaguely royals complained years ago in the papers of not having enough potatoes. It turned out they were talking about money and that it was also their descent into becoming a joke.

Don't let that happen to you, OP. Get a grip of the word money and use it frequently. Tell whoever you need what amount of money you want.

Confused
Housingcraze · 24/01/2019 13:21

@carrotflinger correct but I’m BU

OP posts:
Returnofthesmileybar · 24/01/2019 13:21

So you only got one camel and now you have the hump?

WTBE · 24/01/2019 13:22

"I might being abit unreasonable so il throw a couple of camels instead, to take the harshness off"

Was that your thought process OP? 😂 Thanks for the laugh!

thegreylady · 24/01/2019 13:23

I like the camel metaphor camels are more interesting though arguably more labour intensive than £10 notes.

Housingcraze · 24/01/2019 13:23

Is now googling different types of camels?

I think I would like one of each but was given a Bactrian one 😂

OP posts:
Housingcraze · 24/01/2019 13:25

@WTBE yes and I don’t know why I choose camels maybe crocodiles 🐊 in future?

OP posts:
timetoriseandshine · 24/01/2019 13:26

@bridgetreilly actually howling at that bluntness however hilarious

timetoriseandshine · 24/01/2019 13:27

@Shoxfordian can't deal with that comment hahahahaha

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/01/2019 13:27

Didn’t you post this same thread a few days ago but with money instead of camels? You’re spending far too much time and effort thinking about this, just learn your lesson and don’t fall for it again next birthday/Christmas. Certainly don’t order any 🐫 or 🐪 for DPs family ever again.

WTBE · 24/01/2019 13:28

Housing crocodiles will work, when you have a MIL problem pull out the big guns and swap her for a hippo Grin

runs off

mrsm43s · 24/01/2019 13:28

I think a candle and some sweets is a perfectly appropriate gift for a new girlfriend. of a family member To complain about this would be really, really grabby.

Did you buy DB and SIL gifts over and above what your boyfriend bought them?

Housingcraze · 24/01/2019 13:32

@WTBE 😂😂😂😂😂

OP posts:
timetoriseandshine · 24/01/2019 13:32

Well @Housingcraze you have certainly provided me with a much needed giggle so thank you for that.
However, don't dwell too much on it, maybe two camels next time huh Thanks

Loyaultemelie · 24/01/2019 13:33

Are you related to my Dh he was waffling on about buying a crocodile hoover this morning and I'm equally baffled by that one. (Google appears equally baffled too)

Aus84 · 24/01/2019 13:33

OP, you mention that your DP's ex GFs always got the higher value gifts. Perhaps his family are sick of spending money on people that may or may not be around for the next Christmas/birthday. Maybe wait until you have been together a little longer before getting in a huff about it.

MikeUniformMike · 24/01/2019 13:34

So everyone gets 2 camels every Christmas and birthday?
4 camels a year. A camel can live to be 40, so DP's family must have a lot of camels.

Do you get the camels from a rescue centre? Or do you buy them off breeders? Do you neuter the camels? Do you breed camels for gifting purposes?

Nanasueathome · 24/01/2019 13:38

Do the camels spit?

ShartGoblin · 24/01/2019 13:40

If your DP insisted that you tell your sister off over something but then refuses to tell his own family off over the same thing then I actually don't think you're being unreasonable to be annoyed with HIM. Not his family of camel herders though as people are free to give however many camels they would like. He's a hypocrite and he owes your sister a camel for his rudeness.

CurtainsOpen · 24/01/2019 13:41

Are you quite OK, OP? Do you need a lie down?
