Have just discovered (through him stealing one of mine from take away at weekend) that DS who will try anything once but is fussy loves onion rings, thrown in the fryer 2.5 minutes. Given he doesn’t like potatoes or pasta this is a carb win!
Tell me younother “there’s no time, it’s all gone to shit today, I’m a bad mum just eat something and stop crying” dinners?
Thanks!
Ps promise to be a better mum and provide a nutritionally balanced non fried meal tomorrow!
Pps he had wetabix for dessert.

Beans or spaghetti hoops on toast
Omlette
Egg and soldiers
Fish fingers in a sarnie or with micro rice or oven chips

Bagels with ham, cheese, peanut butter etc
Sausage and mash (though maybe that’s not so quick)
Hotdogs
“picnic tea” which is sandwiches or sausage rolls (or similar), cut up carrot and cucumber, fruit, crisps and a small treat eaten on blankets I in the lounge
Pancakes

Microwave scrambled eggs 🤢🤮😱

MyFriendGoo5 · 22/01/2019 19:20

Pasta with butter and cheese.

Usually stick a bag of salad on the side to healtherise things

puppymouse · 22/01/2019 19:21

Most of DD's meals are quick. She has a main meal at school then usually fruit, toast, cheese, ham, hummus etc in the evening.

When she does need a cooked meal and time is short and there's no left overs to heat up she likes tuna mayo with broccoli (frozen then microwaved) or baked beans with egg mixed in. Fried or poached.

BrokenWing · 22/01/2019 19:21

Ready poached salmon (uncooked doesnt take long in oven either)

Healthy and takes 5 mins to warm through. Mix with pasta, noodles, just with veg or whatever favourite sides (10 mins)..

Mistigri · 22/01/2019 19:22

Gnocchi heated in a frying pan with a tiny bit of butter. He eats them with ketchup ~yuck~

MrsMoggy · 22/01/2019 19:23

My egg refuser will eat eggy bread, might be worth a try?

Tuna pasta with sweetcorn and olives is probably the only meal all 3 of mine are guaranteed to eat and have seconds and thirds of. I know it's more of a crappy lunch than dinner but mine have it a lot. Likewise pesto pasta but they prefer tuna.

Fresh filled pasta with shop bought sauce and garlic bread, takes 5 minutes to cook.

Fried tofu and noodles... takes less than 10 minutes and again they all usually eat it. Tofu is basically flavourless, and fried tofu reminds me of scrambled egg, but my scrambled egg refuser goes mad for it.

Quorn nuggets/fish fingers

Mashed sardines or mackerel in tomato sauce on toast with frozen peas. This one we only do for lunch/brunch but could totally work as a quick dinner.

And for honesty, tinned tomato soup/spaghetti/beans/ravioli. We buy then sometimes for lunches/school
Holidays but will give for dinner very occasionally when I haven't been shopping.

Spiderpants · 22/01/2019 19:34

Nuggets, salad and wraps or soft tacos (chicken boats as we call them). Nuggets cooked in the air fryer only take a few minutes, lovely quick tea

littlemeitslyn · 22/01/2019 19:38

What ?? Under the grill is toasted ??? 🙄🙄

Parttimewasteoftime · 22/01/2019 19:42

My egg dodger loves eggy bread also soup with rolls.
Are microwave meals really bad 👿

LateMumma · 22/01/2019 19:45

Pasta pesto with a frozen salmon fillet microwaved and microwaved broccoli/green beans.

Mashed potatoes with carrots and sweet pots (we bulk make, portion and micro) with veggie sausage and veg.

Micro jacket pots with beans and cheese

I'd be lost without the microwave!

bourbonbiccy · 22/01/2019 19:46

Cheesy beans on toast
Homemade pizza
Pilchards in tomatoe on toast with cheesy broccoli side
Fish fingers with Parmesan breadcrumbs
Veggie stir fry

HoliestGoat · 22/01/2019 19:49

Omlette

Torvi · 22/01/2019 19:49

Those cheap mini pizzas in the air fryer. Only takes a few minutes!

Disfordarkchocolate · 22/01/2019 19:51

Omlette used to go down well, now it's eggy bread or toasted ham sandwich with crisps and some grapes.

MrBurgessWha · 22/01/2019 19:51

Those Tilda Kids microwave rice pouches - with mixed in veg + chop some chicken in and cucumber sticks and raisins on the side. Ready in literally 2 mins

thaegumathteth · 22/01/2019 19:59

The fact he doesn’t like eggs or potatoes or pasta kind of means our stuff is null and void but ...

French toast
Pasta with pesto and cheese
Baked potatoes with filling
Beans on toast
Frozen pizza

Their FAVOURITE though is cold chicken, mini sausages, carrots, tomatoes, cheese, tiger bread and spinach pasta from m&s

LauraMipsum · 22/01/2019 20:04

Pasta with cream cheese and frozen peas stirred through.

Noodles with mushrooms and sugarsnap peas.

Tinned macaroni cheese / peppa pig pasta.

CMOTDibbler · 22/01/2019 20:19

What we refer to as ramen noodles - thin egg noodles, spoon of miso, soy sauce, fine chopped carrot, some broccoli and other appropriate veg as found in fridge. Boil with minimal water for 3 minutes, add cooked meat as found and slurp. Rice noodles also work - thicker noodles are ok if you do the straight to wok ones or have longer
