Why haven't I lost any weight ? I've been so good.

Since Christmas I've hardly had a drink, no snacks, been to yoga and pilates, or walked every day (and walked to work every day 4 miles return).

I've eaten loads of veg and cut down on carbs.

No Christmas choc, no left over Baileys....

BendynickCuminsnatch your diet sound healthy, portion sizes sound fine...so unless you are necking bottles of wine, huge milky starbucks or eating in your sleep it must be very frustrating.

I like the ideas in the Dr Mosely Gut books about increasing your gut diversity...basically eating more and varied veg and trying fermented food. It's not really about losing weight but about treating your gut biome well ...

Bendydick I can give you lots of advice on plantar fasciitis. Had it twice and I’m a massage therapist. Get some orthopaedic shoe inserts (online or from chemist), look up some calf stretches on YouTube, you want to be stretching the calf not the foot. Massage the calf, get your knuckles into it and do little circles. You may also want to try a product called heelease. This is what made the difference for me the second time. It’s a gadget that gives you intense vibrations to to foot. I also used it in the calf. There are a couple of support groups on Facebook that offer some good advice.

Thanks Violet! Had it since June/July so tried most things. Love my spiky physio ball. Been seeing an osteopath for the last few weeks and my pilates teacher has made me a personalised program to do at home - loads of stretching - and feeling MASSIVELY better so hopefully will be able to up the exercise soon! Been wearing only ugly orthotic shoes since the summer 😄 I appreciate the advice though!

Hello Op! Hello previous posters! Smile

Just wanted to check in and see how you're all doing!

Todays my last day of anti biotics, so I'm going back to my 7 mile walk tomorrow with my friend. So far I've maintained, so at least it's better than gaining. 4 more weeks till Valentines Day though, so I think I'm going to increase my 14 laps to 16, this coming Monday.

How's everyone else faring? Just a few words of encouragement- Please remember to have courage, to be proud of your achievements thus far, stay strong even when you feel weak and forgive yourself for having tripped occasionally. You are only human, after all. We only have to be well today. That's all we can do. We can only do our best and be
willing.
The last part I stole from Larkrise to Candleford (my favorite show) but I think it fitting! Smile

For all of you,

Thanks for everyone who have given me tips.

Brought some large sweet potatoes to microwave for lunch this week, and some porridge for breakfast.

havent read all the thread sorry

op how do you weigh yourself and how often?

thecatneuterer · 20/01/2019 14:52

@Petalflowers You asked for comments. Mine is fuck me - I'd be constantly starving if I ate that. I'm very slim and must eat at least twice as much (and I'm old and not that active). Oh, I don't drink at all though, but I doubt it's that that's making the difference.

Whenever people post their typical day's menu on MN I usually think 'how do they manage?' and 'aren't they going to bed starving and, if so, how do they sleep?' I always need a good wodge of something carb heavy before bed or I literally can't sleep.

thecatneuterer · 20/01/2019 14:53

@Petalflowers to be clear I was replying to your first post - haven't read the rest yet.
