I don’t know what to do, I’ve never experienced sickness like this - it’s been relentless every 15 minutes or so right throughout the night my 2yro dd is exhausted and so unwell with it all.

I’ve called 111 and gp gave me a ring back and believes she has a tummy bug of some kind and to keep encouraging fluids throughout the next 24 hours or so. AIBU to be so concerned now to ring them back? Or even take her to A&E?! I know I probably should steer clear with risk to others if it is a bug but I’m starting to feel really frightened by all the bile that’s coming out of her. She’s lying here next to me awake but she’s just all floppy and vacant (other than when she’s being sick). Should I just keep monitoring? I don’t know what my instincts are telling me to do Sad

This was my daughter a couple of years ago. She was just turned 2 and we had continuous vomiting for 3 days straight.

The hospital's main priority will be making sure she isn't getting dehydrated. Keep offering her water or squash (cordial) and Dioralyte.

She lost so much weight (and she was already small due to being 9 weeks prem) her little legs couldn't quite manage her body weight and she couldn't walk or stand properly. I called 999 and they sent an ambulance because she was bringing up green bile.

I would phone for advice. Hope she's better soon. XFlowers

I hope she's sorted soon. Never be afraid to get a small child seen.

KEW89 · 17/01/2019 23:42

Hi thank you for all your supportive posts sorry it’s late it’s been a long day but were back home and dd is on the mend. Hospital were lovely and reassured us we know our little ones best so if something doesn’t feel right it’s best to just get them checked. She was treated for dehydration but managed to avoid IVs or anything too invasive just lots of monitoring fluids/urine output once dd started to drink and keep it down she improved dramatically (not eating yet though!) Unfortunately the storm is not quite over as looks like this bug has travelled southwards now!! Poor thing but she’s got her little twinkle back in her eyes and i’ll make sure we are well and truly dettoled before we rejoin society!
Thanks again Flowers

Hope she gets better quickly, OP, & that no-one else in the house catches it! It sounds a lot like what DH & DD had a few weeks ago. Not nice, definitely wash your hands very often & thoroughly, & hopefully you won't get it - I escaped it. And get some hand cream out, or they'll be raw! Flowers

Ninjafox · 18/01/2019 00:49

Glad to hear shes on the mend Flowers
