I don’t know what to do, I’ve never experienced sickness like this - it’s been relentless every 15 minutes or so right throughout the night my 2yro dd is exhausted and so unwell with it all.

I’ve called 111 and gp gave me a ring back and believes she has a tummy bug of some kind and to keep encouraging fluids throughout the next 24 hours or so. AIBU to be so concerned now to ring them back? Or even take her to A&E?! I know I probably should steer clear with risk to others if it is a bug but I’m starting to feel really frightened by all the bile that’s coming out of her. She’s lying here next to me awake but she’s just all floppy and vacant (other than when she’s being sick). Should I just keep monitoring? I don’t know what my instincts are telling me to do Sad

Ambulance or A&E NOW if you are not already there.

instasham · 17/01/2019 08:55

I’d take her to a&e

The unresponsiveness is a worry

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 17/01/2019 08:58

A&E this sound extreme and if she can’t keep fluids down will need a drip

AllMYSmellySocks · 17/01/2019 09:09

With young kids the best test of how they are is how they seem. If she's very different from normal and seems to you to be very unwell I'd take her to be seen.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 17/01/2019 09:11

OP honestly just take her!!!!

oatmilk4breakfast · 17/01/2019 09:11

Please take her to A&E - in my experience they would much rather see the baby and it be nothing than risk anything. We have a children’s dept and they sail you right through...

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 17/01/2019 09:11

Don't worry if anyone will judge (they won't) but floppy and unresponsive would scare me!!

KEW89 · 17/01/2019 09:16

Still poorly so decision made - we’re going to A&E. Thanks for all your posts reassuring that I wasn’t over-reacting. I’m sure they’ll have her on the mend in no time

Sounds like a good choice!

Let us know how she is later.

Ozziewozzie · 17/01/2019 09:24

A dry nappy is definately s sign of dehydration. Seriously, I would get her physically checked out ASAP. At the very least ask gp surgery to get a gp to call you.

Jeanclaudejackety · 17/01/2019 09:36

I was being sick every 5 to 10 minutes once when I had a sick bug, could literally only crawl to toilet and lay back down, also horrible burning in my throat and stomach as throwing up bile. Took sips of water and threw back up, I went to a walk in where my DP had to help me in, as he checked me in at the desk I threw up so they put me straight in a bay with a drip, painkillers and heart monitor thing, I was there about 6 hours and had to have iv anti sickness drugs also it was just a nasty sick bug but I think at home I might have actually ripped something in my stomach or something if I hadn't gone. Normally I wouldn't go but I just didn't feel right. Trust your gut really is what I'd say!

Spidey66 · 17/01/2019 09:47

Not a parent, but my gut (see what I did there?) instinct would be A&E, in case she's dehydrated. And I'm not someone who shouts A&E for everything.

Spidey66 · 17/01/2019 09:48

I see you've already taken her. I hope she's OK, poor little mite. Must be horrible to watch and even worse for her. Good luck x

GlitteryFluff · 17/01/2019 09:57

You've done the right thing taking her to a&e. Hope she's ok.

HeyDuggeesCakeBadge · 17/01/2019 15:00

Hope everything is okay OP!! Thanks

MissEliza · 17/01/2019 15:06

Hope you're little one is ok. It's so worrying when they're that bad young. I had my first two dcs abroad in a hot country where tummy bugs were very common. I find doctors in the UK a bit too laid back about these things.

Pixiedustaway · 17/01/2019 15:10

Hope your little one is ok..

Hiphopopotamous · 17/01/2019 15:28

Saw your first post - floppy and vacant, and thought you need to get to A&E now, glad you did!
Hope she's doing ok now.

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 17/01/2019 17:25

Op, I hope your Dd is ok!

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 17/01/2019 17:27

Any news, OP? Hope little one is OK. You did the right thing taking her to A&E.

CosmicComet · 17/01/2019 17:39

Hospital. Dehydration is a very real risk at that age. Sounds like rotavirus.

Newmummy1234 · 17/01/2019 19:28

How awful! Hope your little one is ok xx

newplacenofriends · 17/01/2019 19:43

hope everything went alright at the hospital

Ninjafox · 17/01/2019 22:18

Checking back in and hoping your little one is ok?
