I wonder if I am being unreasonable to be disappointed with this. I would be interested to hear your descriptions of the product that you see in the attached picture, so I can judge whether I misjudged what I was buying and shouldn't have felt a little misled

Is there a club for the two-pack fans!

I guess there's something wrong with me not being overfaced by a slab of pâté! Blush

...but no, the trauma came from realising the third-of-the-packet sized gap in the middle!

viques · 16/01/2019 23:11

I don't see the problem. You thought it was one pack, turned out to be two. So either open one and eat them one after the other or open both at the same time. It's the same difference.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/01/2019 23:16

The theory is that you don't need to open it and then throw half it away when you've not finished it in two or three days. However you are whinging that you thought it was a whole pack and yet you've not finished it and it's out of date...I'd have thought, in theory, that you are the very person it's designed for. Confused

GreatWesternValkyrie · 16/01/2019 23:24

A description of it? Pressed turd in vacuum pack was my first thought. I’ve never seen a pate quite that colour before 👀

Smotheroffive · 17/01/2019 00:17

You missed the point that I already made! t'was an illusion. You need to read the rest of the thread.

And no, it didn't go to waste, that was the sell by date. It was all eaten, and it was yummy!

IAmNotAWitch · 17/01/2019 00:24

But it has the weight clearly printed on the pack (both the overall and the individual servings), along with the words 'twin pack'?

Smotheroffive · 17/01/2019 00:28

Yes, indeed, please read the thread.

It's the fridge in the co-op. Two chickens and a turkey?

localfluff · 17/01/2019 03:53

It's some pate made to represent the ongoing struggle of the proletariat workers against the capitalist overlords in Manchester in the 1930s. The pate represents the workers - mangled and without a recognisable form and the tray and plastic represents the capitalists who are restricting them and keeping them trapped. Soon the capitalist overlords will eat the pate as they dine and the pate, like the workers, will be consumed and cease to exist.

Meangirls36 · 17/01/2019 15:11

Its made like that so you don't waste a whole slab of pate because once opened pate goes grey and weird very quickly. FYI the aldi coarse mushroom pate on brown toast with some butter is heaven!

WaxOnFeckOff · 17/01/2019 15:46

And no, it didn't go to waste, that was the sell by date. It was all eaten, and it was yummy

Usually it's a use by date. Are you sure it was a sell by date? Did it also have a use by date? I've fairly adventurous when it comes to use by dates on most things, but I don't fuck about with chicken or pate.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 17/01/2019 15:55

Also, the partly eaten pâté could easily be mistaken for the sole of a foot with the toes eaten off!

You're not wrong Confused

tiggerkid · 17/01/2019 16:01

Says pate, looks like pate... so unless you enlighten us as to why you are upset, I can't tell from the photo because it's very blurry.

Felicia3 · 17/01/2019 16:12

I buy these from the co-op all the time. They last ages, so I'd rather eat one bit and save the other for when i fancy it, rather than open a pack, eat the little I want, then have to throw it away after 2 or 3 days as I've opened it.

NoParticularPattern · 17/01/2019 16:18

Oh I like a twin pack. There’s only me that eats it and often I won’t eat it all in one go and then one edge of a big slab can go a bit dry and crusty. Although admittedly I’d probably have also assumed it was a big slab as twin packs don’t seem to be readily available round here!!

Smotheroffive · 17/01/2019 21:47

Hi again, all twin-pack fans. I shall say this only once, I am not dissing the twin pack fun, that's not the point. Read the thread.

I am glad I am not the only one to have been able to 'see' that dontcallme ! Confused Grin

Just to repeat, I don't care that its a twin-pack and have nothing against them, and I'm sure its a great idea and works for everyone Wink. Have fun twin-pack fans!!

OP posts:
Ivegotthree · 17/01/2019 21:54

I didn't realise it was a twin pack

YeOldeTrout · 18/01/2019 18:01

2x 85g portions of pate. I can't see the pic very well. I'm not a fan of pate so wouldn't expect much.
