I wonder if I am being unreasonable to be disappointed with this. I would be interested to hear your descriptions of the product that you see in the attached picture, so I can judge whether I misjudged what I was buying and shouldn't have felt a little misled

Disappointed in the quality of the photo? Yeah, it is pretty shit Wink

Omgineedanamechange · 16/01/2019 22:27

We’re you expecting it to be one long piece, rather than two with a gap under the cardboard label? It very clearly says twin pack though, so it’s obvious that it’s two pieces.

RedLife · 16/01/2019 22:29

I love pate. Hth. Wink

BrokenWing · 16/01/2019 22:30

Expecting Two separate packs instead of one pack with 2 pieces (or even one piece you had to chop in half yourself)?

clairethewitch70 · 16/01/2019 22:30

Out of date

Namechangearoo · 16/01/2019 22:31

Come back OP, I need to know why you’re hard done by!

Makatoned · 16/01/2019 22:32

A vegan having a nightmare

Squickety · 16/01/2019 22:33

It's not made of farmhouses?

Smidge001 · 16/01/2019 22:34

The left side looks like paté, but to me the right side looks like slices of cold beef.

Drogosnextwife · 16/01/2019 22:36

Patè, is it split in 2 in the middle and you thought I was just one full pack?

secretmetoo · 16/01/2019 22:36

I see a twin pack. I’d expect the two sides to be separately sealed and if equal sizes

StepAwayFromGoogle · 16/01/2019 22:36

Cancel the cheque.

Dextrodependant · 16/01/2019 22:38

I am going with the two tiny pates which you thought was one bigggggggg pate.

LynetteScavo · 16/01/2019 22:39

Well initially I thought it was 2 farmhouse pate sandwiches, but then I thought it was a double pack of pate. Which would be weird. Why would you need a double pack of pate??? The clue would be in which section it was situated..

LagunaBubbles · 16/01/2019 22:41

Pate.

MissClareRemembers · 16/01/2019 22:45

I took a look and what I saw was no explanation from the OP.

Could murder some pate right now.

JaneJeffer · 16/01/2019 22:48

It's meat paste they've spelled it wrong.

Smotheroffive · 16/01/2019 22:50

Gosh, I didn't expect such a rush of replies, as headed off to another few things tonsort this eve, before checking back in here, so sorry for that, but thanks for all the contributions have enjoyed reading!

I agree with the poster who said it was a shit picture Sad it so was, and its a shame that I had opened and started eating it as that obviously proved a distraction for some, but it wasn't some weird something, just the opened plastic was wrinkled and unclear!

Yes, also as other pp said, its been in my fridge past its sell by date now, and also wish i'd taken the pic before I started on it, as that spoiled the illusion that it was in fact one long slab of pate, and, you know what, it wasn't until I took the pic and looked at it that the two-pack bit really jumped out at me!

So yeah, went I bought it the two separate slabs really did look like one long slab, whereas both fell considerably short of the middle, and massive part (almost a third I feel) was covered by card.

Who buys pate in fucking twin packs!!! Gah!!
One buys a lump of pate, and I felt very cheated when I pulled the sleeve off to find two smaller slabs, my heartbreak and distress! Pfft!

I see some have been through this trauma and are wise to it.

I knew I should bring my problem here for the wise insights from fellow MNers!

Also, the partly eaten pâté could easily be mistaken for the sole of a foot with the toes eaten off!

TinklyLittleLaugh · 16/01/2019 22:59

I dunno. I bought some packaged like this recently, can't remember which supermarket, and I remember thinking it was quite nice to be able to just eat a bit and the rest still be wrapped up fresh.

However, I am the only one who really likes pate in our house so a big slab is overfacing and I get fed up before I've eaten it all.

speakout · 16/01/2019 23:00

Twin packs are handy though- often with a shelf life of a week or two for meats.
If you open the pack you have to consume within 2-3 days and may end up having to throw away any unused product.
Having a second unopened pack is very handy.
I often buy twin packs of stuff like that.

Valkyries · 16/01/2019 23:00

I think those twin packs are great because I’m the only one who eats it and it keeps it fresh

Enko · 16/01/2019 23:02

I much prefer them in twin packs means we can have one half and later open the other one.

Spunkymonkey2019 · 16/01/2019 23:09

I prefer twin slabs, stops me throwing half away.
