Periods returned 10 weeks pp. I feel cheated!

I recall, months ago, my mother telling me to look forward no periods for months after giving birth.

Two weeks ago, at 10 weeks pp, with a very hungry ebf baby and a freezer full of expressed milk, my period returned.

AIBU to feel utterly cheated (and slightly naive)? And also to ask, whether this happened to anyone else and if they were regular (or if I can hold out hope that this may be a one off!)

Seriously feel cheated here. With my first they returned at 5 months when she started sleeping more than 6 hours.

This time with insatiable boy feeding 3 times a night back at 8 weeks pp ffs! I am blaming the bout of bronchiolitis 4 weeks ago as he barely fed for a couple of days but still feel cheated that constant feeds doesn't pay off better!

@Crunchymum my mum had the same as you. You're very lucky!!

Ebf and mine returned at 8weeks too. Pretty glad I didn’t rely on the whole breastfeeding as contraception thing! Not that there was much risk at that stage. I’ve not noticed any changes in feeding pattern/baby behaviour before or during my period though.

Ozziewozzie · 14/01/2019 23:18

What about the coil. I now have one and it’s far better. My periods post partum were so awful, I was convinced I was not only having mine, but everyone else’s too Confused

Seline · 14/01/2019 23:21

I'm no longer breastfeeding and don't have my period yet at 12 weeks. Slightly concerned as they returned quickly after my eldest.

ineedaholidaynow · 14/01/2019 23:23

Mine started about that time too, and I had 'periods' for the first 5 months of pregnancy too Angry

BlueSatsuma · 14/01/2019 23:48

8 months and I formula fed!

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 23:48

@BlueSatsuma don't like you either!!

Mine came back at 12 weeks with my daughter, and were like clockwork after. EBF around the clock, just like is supposed to stop that. It was a complete arse..my nipples hurt while she was nursing, my supply dropped, and my periods were like the flood. Eventually had an ablation to deal with the periods. I was not impressed.

gluteustothemaximus · 15/01/2019 00:00

I bled for the entire 6 weeks, then period very shortly after. EBF. Same with DD. But with DS2, periods didn't return for 6 months. Go figure.

BillyAndTheSillies · 15/01/2019 00:41

Mine came back a year to the day that I'd missed my period because I was pregnant. So 12 weeks. I remember that period being so painful I almost wanted to get pregnant again straight away.

MelissaN93 · 15/01/2019 01:30

@SwagQueen I'd had my after baby bleed for 2 weeks stopped for 1 week then my first period and they've been like clockwork ever since 😩😩😩

WobbleBottomBum · 15/01/2019 05:36

*I was convinced I was not only having mine, but everyone else’s too

Yanbu. I was told nine months and it was 3. I'd bled for six weeks too so only had a six week break. Gutted!!
