Periods returned 10 weeks pp. I feel cheated!

I recall, months ago, my mother telling me to look forward no periods for months after giving birth.

Two weeks ago, at 10 weeks pp, with a very hungry ebf baby and a freezer full of expressed milk, my period returned.

AIBU to feel utterly cheated (and slightly naive)? And also to ask, whether this happened to anyone else and if they were regular (or if I can hold out hope that this may be a one off!)

7 months in, still no periods for me.

Sorry they've returned so quickly for you. Sad

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:15

@Whatififall my Lochia went on for 7.5 weeks so I feel your pain there.

All I can say is that in my next life, I’m coming back as a man Grin

ShowOfHands · 14/01/2019 21:18

I had lochia for 7 weeks, 4 weeks off and straight back to a 28 day cycle. DD was fussy for a day or two before each period and fed much more with production being slower. I also had a blocked duct every single time I ovulated. For. Three. Bloody Years.

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:18

@Ozziewozzie too right.

Shock thought byou were going to say you were formula feeding.

Lochia stopped at 6 weeks, periods returned at 9 weeks postpartum. I stopped BFing at 6 weeks. I'm pregnant again and one of the things I was looking forward to with breastfeeding longer this time was no periods Sad

horsesheep · 14/01/2019 21:20

Mine come back 4 weeks pp and I was exclusively breastfeeding. Cried because of how robbed I felt (I was hormonal from birth still and on my period so very emotional)

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:21

@Chocolateheaven123 you may very well find they don't come back as soon as mine. My mum ebf for two years. No periods for two years.

swag show Mother Nature can be a right cow!

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:27

@horsesheep bloody awful isn't it. I bled monthly throughout pregnancy too so when that stopped after giving birth it was blissful. My doctor diagnosed me with PND and sent me home with SSRIs last week after I went in twice telling him I was depressed and hated myself. In tears, wanted to curl up in a ball and slowly fade away. I had PMT....

One of my friends has fed 4 and the longest she's gone is 6 weeks I think. You have my total sympathy Thanks

Sparklybanana · 14/01/2019 21:30

Mine took about 8 months - I could tell it was going to come as my son was not keen on pre menstrual milk!

Yanbu- what the hell is your body thinking about!

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:31

@JiltedJohnsJulie my mum had 4 and went 2 years each time. 2 years!! 8 years of no periods. Bloody wonderful.

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:31

@Sparklybanana I clearly wasn't a very good person in a former life.

Mine came back when ds1 was 8 weeks old.

I got pregnant with ds2 2 months later!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/01/2019 21:34

Your lucky DM. I've had2 and went 18 months each time and I thought I was lucky.

E20mom · 14/01/2019 21:35

I EBF'd too and they came back 28days after giving birth. I'd have loved to have lasted 10 weeks!

mummabubs · 14/01/2019 21:35

Mine came back after 10 weeks too OP :( x

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:37

@E20mom I bet you'd have still felt cheated if you hadn't have known any different Wink

KTD27 · 14/01/2019 21:40

Mine came back at 10 weeks which was unexpected but then didn’t arrive again until 6.5 months so I think perhaps it was a delayed bleed! V weird. There might be hope yet OP?!

SwagQueen · 14/01/2019 21:41

@KTD27 I bloody hope so!!!

Mine was straight away as well, lochia finally stopped and 3 weekly heavy as hell periods returned AngryAngry

WobbleBottomBum · 14/01/2019 22:00

I was ebf and got it about 5 weeks after. So unfair.

I also had the implant (later) and was looking forward to no periods. I ended up being one of the people on their period AA. THE. TIME. I was told to give it a chance to settle. After 6 months of that bs I had it taken out .

Crunchymum · 14/01/2019 22:17

I had no period between May 2014 and August 2018. Pregnant / breastfeeding / pregnant again / breastfeeding.
