Green potatoes are poisonous?

It’s a myth yes?

Only I cooked stir fry but my tofu was frozen and then I threw in some leftovers and it was disgusting so I threw it in the bin in a rage. So I’m cooking some linda sausages and the only potato I have is a bit green.

Shall I just order a kebab and be done with it all?

Not a myth it the green colouring is chlorophyll which isn’t harmful but being green indicates the presence of solanine which could give you the squits

It is true but I've never been ill from eating slightly green potatoes. It depends how green and how much you eat I guess.

Nope not a myth. They're toxic. You can cut the green bits away but if they're sprouting you need to chuck them.

I want to know the answer. I will happily eat green potatos but my DW tells me that they are bad. I've eaten lots of them and as I am typing this I assume I am not dead.

Oh bollocks really? It’s only tinged green. Not fluorescent.

Linda McCartney sausages. The red onion ones. One of the few GF AND vegan easy freezer things in existence.

I have eaten sprouting potatoes many many times to no apparent ill effect, as well as those tinged a bit green.

Dear God, my potatoes start sprouting before they reach their use by dates (yes, even in a dark cupboard). There's no way I'm throwing them all away.

Not surprising when you know Potatoes (and tomatoes) are part of the Solanum family which includes deadly nightshade and henbane.

Blimey, I had no idea. Not only have I been happily eating green sprouting potatoes, I've been feeding them to my family for years too Blush No one has been ill because of it afaik.
